I just wanted to brag on my friend Sola (The secret sanctuary farm products) real quick because she makes awesome soaps and candles and gave us this beautiful gift basket, and we are obsessed 😍! The Coconut Dream scent is divine, and I am so thankful I had those candles yesterday when Remi decided to roll in something gross, and I stank up the whole house after coming in from washing her down. Those candles saved us from smelling it all night 😅🙏! Also, for those folks that like honey, James and Sola got you covered with the honey they harvest from their ethically raised bees, and I can tell you firsthand, it’s delicious 😋 🐝🍯!!!!

So remember that one time we brought home lgd puppies a few months ago? Well those puppies are 7-months-old now, and have turned into 100+ lb Central Asian Shepherd beasts, like what 🤯😱?!?! We have been so impressed with their temperament and intelligence, and it has been such a relief that they have not developed littermate syndrome and are still the best of friends (through the fenceline of course because I don’t want no in**ed oopsie-babies 😅). Truly the best dogs we’ve ever had, and that’s not to say we didn’t love our other dogs, but these dogs have been so easy to train, and have exceeded every expectation we had of them 🤩. We could not be happier with this awesome breed and these amazing dogs from Empty Pockets Ranch 🥰!

Here’s a picture of the snake we found near the sheep pen a couple of weeks ago (forgot I had a picture of it)🐍☠️! Tom walked right past it to feed the sheep and only noticed it when he turned around, and thankfully he did, because one misstep off the narrow footpath to the sheep and he’d a been sniped. I’d never seen a Cottonmouth before, but let me tell you what, that snake was thick!!! Took care of that guy, and not a few days later, Tom found a Copperhead slithering out of the sheep pen when he was filling their water 😱!
Not sure if he’s lucky or cursed at this point 😅. And while I’m on the topic of predators on the property, here’s a few pics of the snapping turtle (re: dinosaur) I almost ran over coming home from running rainy day errands a while back🐢🦖!

Found this guy in the coop the other night 🫣! I honestly don’t really mind these guys, although I’m not a fan of them in my coop either, but they’re generally not a problem. The ones I’m really not a fan of are the poisonous ones, and we’ve had quite a few visits from them this Summer 🐍☠️!!!

I can’t believe I never posted about Patti LaBaaBaa, basically my third child 🤎🤦🏻‍♀️. Honestly, I blame it on all the sleepless nights from her being a “bottle baby” that never took a bottle 😩! Lady BaaBaa was a first time mom and rejected her lamb, didn’t clean her off or even respond to her cries 😭. We knew it was crucial that Patti receive colostrum within the first few hours of being born, so we held Lady BaaBaa in place for the first couple of feedings so that Patti could nurse, but then we figured “breast is best”, so we decided we’d wake up every 2-3 hours so Patti could nurse for every feeding, even if it was at the expense of our sleep (re: sanity) 😅. I’m so glad we did it though because Patti is not only healthy, but thriving, and even gets along with Mama BaaBaa 🥰. We did have to kennel Patti for a while there because Lady BaaBaa couldn’t be trusted not to headbutt Patti into oblivion if we weren’t around 😒, but eventually she settled down, and now they’re the best of friends ☺️. Also, no, that’s not some weird guillotine in the background of the 3rd to last photo, we figured out (embarrassingly much later) that we could convert the milking stand to a nursing stand to make feedings far less time consuming 😅!

Got this little hammock thing for hoof trimming thinking it would make it WAY easier, but honestly, it was still kind of a struggle 😅. We really only got to trimming the Barbados yesterday though, so hopefully the Shetlands and Babydolls will be more chill in the hammock 🤞🏼🤞🏼.

And apparently we like to be overwhelmed because we decided to run two incubators again 🤣. This time around we’ve got F1 Olive Eggers, Black Copper Marans, Bielefelders, and Tolbunt Polish. I’m really hoping they all hatch out 🙏🤞🏼🤞🏼!!!
