Good Tuesday morning and Happy Fall!!
Today we bring news of an adoption. Congratulations to our little boy Scimmia who went to his forever home yesterday afternoon!! He is going to be awesome and will absolutely love his new home and family!! His new mom and dad already have a few kitties at home of different ages, and are actually already part of the Mabels family. They have both fostered, and adopted from M.O.A.R. in the past, so as soon as the application came to us here, we made contact and set up a pick up day and time. So again, CONGRATULATIONS Scimmia!! We'll miss ya buddy, but we know we'll get lots of pictures and updates on you as time goes by.
So, that leaves us with Malpa and Hali as the only "under a year old" fosters in our home. Hali gets better every day and now greets us when we enter their room. She purrs and makes biscuits, but still not sure of people she's not used to. Both Hali and Malpa are great together, and it's awesome having two other little black kitties in the house. So far our two boys Karhu and Baldur, and foster Anne have been in the kitten room visiting, no issues whatsoever. Our boys have always been great with greeting the new kittens we foster, and Anne was ok with them as long as they don't get in her face or too personal 😉. Hali isn't very interested in leaving the room when the door opens, but Malpa is always running out wanting to explore more of the house, so she has "run into" a few other of the kitties here. The boys Comet and Orbit are not a fan of the new intruder, but Galaxy, Fergus and Joan are just curious. Mary is more cautious and would rather not be around them, so she just leaves.
Also, Malpa and Scimmia's siblings, Apina and Monkey are doing great and are running their home, and falling asleep on their new mom's shoulder.

Thank you again for following and we'll post again with updates as we get them.
Have a great day, and be good to each other 💕

Good Monday morning,
Today we want to remember back to early spring of 2024 to bring you the story of tiny little Frida.

It all began with a desperate call from another of M.O.A.R's volunteers looking for a foster, and of course we said yes. She was picked up by this same volunteer who was calling us from a shelter a few hours drive away. This was just hours before this tiny girl was to be euthanized. The shelter thought she was approximately 4 weeks old, probably because of her size and weight. But we determined based on eye color and the teeth she already had she was closer to 8 weeks, or older, so we gave her a DOB of 07 March 2024
Once she arrived here at our home, we saw her belly was extremely extended due to worms, and she had many ticks on her, especially her belly. Luckily the shelter gave her dewormer before she left them at our request which helped start her recovery. We also noticed almost all her whiskers were missing. So today we learned something new; the mom cats, or a dominant sibling will sometimes chew off the kittens whiskers to keep them from wondering off. They do grow back so no real concerns. Her next 14 days here were spent in quarantine with her weight and condition closely monitored. She was eating very well, a great sign, and was using the litter box, another huge plus with kittens who have worms!! The worms eventually went away, her belly started to return to normal, we removed ALL the ticks, and her energy level increased 200%
It's now been 18 days since she arrived and has gone from 17-1/2 ounces to 26 ounces, not a lot but an improvement, and considering the ticks feeding on her, and the tummy full of worms, we knew she might lose weight before gaining.

That was then, look at this girl now!!!!
Miss Frida has the best life and is loved so much!! This is why we do what we do, to see such a change is a tiny frail little kitten just hours from being euthanized, to this awesome happy full grown member of a loving family, words can't describe it.
Thank you so much for sending these pictures to us! It's always good to hear how our former foster babies are doing. We've had a lot over the past couple years, and it's hard to keep in touch with them all, so any time we get an update on them it really makes our day.

Thanks for following along and all the support you give us,

Good morning,
Exciting things happening today as it's adoption day for Apina and Monkey!!! 😺 We are so happy for them and their new mom who will be picking them up at 1:00pm today.
They have been a joy to care for these last 4 weeks and we'll miss them, but hopefully we'll get updates on them as they grow into adult kitties.
All four were spayed/neutered last Wednesday and have healed up very nicely. There was no issue reintroducing them to each other or Hali when we put them all back together. Speaking of Hali (Jalapeno) she definitely missed them and was happy to have her playmates back. Her and Malpa have become a very playful pair recently which has been fun to watch develop. Hali is slowly coming around and actually climbed into a lap this morning while Apina was there being petted. She is such a sweet kitty, just a bit skittish so she'll take time to warm up to anyone, but it will be worth the time and patience.

That's all for this Sunday.
Thanks for following and sharing
Have an awesome day ❤️

Happy Tuesday good people!

We just wanted to let you guys know the meet and greet we had on Sunday went very well. The adopter fell in love with Apina instantly, but who wouldn't . She now is deciding on either Monkey or Malpa to adopt with Apina, so we'll see. Whoever she decides on, we're thinking this Sunday they will be picked up if everything works out.

That leaves kittens Malpa, Scimmia and Hali, and our adult fosters Mary, Anne, Comet, Galaxy and Orbit to find homes for. If you are interested in becoming a foster, or can help us find happy, safe homes for any of our kitties, please visit savemoarlives.org

If you want to help us care for these little ones, please visit our wish list at https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1BYRAIXWC2AXC?ref_=wl_share

Thank you all so much for all your help and support,
Enjoy your day

Good morning, good morning!!

Last week we told you we had an application for Apina and one of her siblings. Well, that didn't work out, but today we are happy to let you know we received a second application, from someone else, and we have a meet and greet this afternoon. So, hopefully after today we'll know which of her siblings will be adopted with her. The new adopter currently has a senior cat, and just lost another older kitty to Cancer 😿 So these two guys will also be a companion for the older kitty who just lost his best friend. Of course with their energy level, they will keep each other occupied and hopefully not give the older kitty much trouble... they'll learn their place in time.

The four "Monkeys" are well over 3lbs and almost three months old now, so with those numbers all met, it's time for their vet appointments to get spayed, neutered, microchipped and any other vaccines needed. We'll take all four this Wednesday and they'll be healed and ready for a forever home by the weekend.

Little Hali "Jalapeno" is doing well, but still needs some time with us for more socialization. We can pick her up and hold her, but not her favorite thing. She has learned we are the food source, so she does meow and walk around our feet when preparing their food. When we are sitting with the other kittens and they all start purring, she will go to her favorite spot and start "making biscuits" This is when we can sit or lay next to her and pet, scratch, or brush her. She just keeps on purring and baking. Of course when we need to hold her to weigh her, she runs around the room a bit until she gets in a place we can get our hands on her, then she fine, no trouble carrying her and getting her weighed. She's a spicy one for sure, but so sweet.

Thanks again for following along and have a great week,

Good Sunday morning all,
This morning we are happy to report we had an approved application for Apina and one other to go with her, probably brother Scimmia. We made initial contact with the potential adopter, and are just waiting to hear back.

Next we have little miss Hali who we brought in last week for more socialization and people time. In a weeks time she now comes to one of us and starts purring when petted, can be picked up and held for a time and enjoys a good brushing. This morning she was meowing at us for her breakfast, along with the other four, so that's a good new thing she started doing, vocalizing to us when she wants something. She is now getting along with the other four kittens perfectly and this morning she was "making biscuits" on a blanket in the pen, a sign of comfort and the feeling of being with Mom. Last night was also the first night we did not put them away for the night. Every night at bed time all the kittens are put in a play pen for the night. Hopefully this conditions them to sleep through the night when they become older... you're welcome 😁
Last night they ran around and played longer than they usually get to, but it did get quite around 10:00pm, and stayed that way until this morning when the sun started to show.
Everyone now had their second dewormer dose, and as soon as the four siblings hit the 3lb mark, they'll be scheduled for their spay and neuter. If you are interested in any of our kitties, or want to see all the other adorable kittens Mabel's Orphaned Angels Rescue have, visit savemoarlives.org and click the Petfinder link. You can also make much needed donations there as well.
Of course we always appreciate donations directly to us to help feed these guys, so here's that link too

Lastly we just heard Hansel and Gretel, our former foster kittens are getting adopted today together. So happy for them and wish them a long happy, loving, healthy life 💕

That's all for this week. Thank you all for following and your continued support.

Sometimes, we just can't save them as hard as we try 😭

RIP to the little ones. Naruto and his 3 siblings all passed one by one. The little girl fought the longest. We struggled hardcore over the last 48 hours and every single time I walked in to check on her I was shocked when she’d start to wiggle around or big stretch/yawn.
These 4 babies may not have made it, but they were loved, warm and fed ❤️💔
If you’d like to donate in their honor, it would be greatly appreciated. We need to raise money to repair the incubator that started leaking, continue assisting the public, pay vet bills, and continue saving lives. We have several complicated babies with critical veterinary care needed, and we need all of the help that we can get right now.
Last week alone we spent $994 at the vet. We can’t do this without our supporters.

Good morning,
Busy last week taking our five adult foster kitties to the vet for their one year check and vaccine update. Yup, we took all five in at the same time...fun stuff for sure. Some of these guys haven't been in a carrier since they were little babies, so that's always a good time...
Anyway, our four newest kittens are all doing great and are loving running around the kitten room full speed chasing each other, and the various toys. They are not quite 3 lbs yet, but when they hit that weight we'll set up appointments for their spay and neuter.
Our other news is another kitten we took in, yes another one! This little girl was in need of more people time and socializing, and with her being in a crate all day at her other location, we thought she could benefit from being with our four "monkeys" and us.
He name is Jalapeno, but she goes by Hali and she is about 11 weeks old, already spayed and has all her vaccines. She is very, very shy and doesn't come to us, usually hides, but she can be handled without issues. We can tell she is definitely not comfortable, but we'll work with her and get her people ready.
So welcome Hali, hope you enjoy your stay with us 😊

So, as you can see we have a few mouths to feed, so if you are feeling generous, here's our link to help

Just wanted to share a quick video of our four new fosters in the kitten room. They are still quarantined from the rest of the cats here, but decided to move them to let them have some running room. We think they are enjoying their new freedom 😺

Good Sunday morning all!

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Lena!
Thank you for going on this rescue/foster adventure with me 😻

Unfortunately, as of today we have had no good adoption applications for any of our kitties here. Times are hard and the future is unsure, so we understand people not looking for a new family member or two to feed and care for as food and veterinary services are expensive.

But, never the less, we took in four, yes four more kittens 🤪
So, we would like to introduce you all to Monkey, Apina, Scimmia and Malpa.
They arrived Thursday night, and thanks to our amazing leader who brought them to us, they received their first vaccinations and dewormer, along with getting their blood work done as soon as they got here. Weights are going up, litterbox use has been 100%, and they are eating very well, and blood test all came back negative 😊
Little Apina, the fluffy one, had some fur matting, but we got that combed/brushed out and she is all fluffy and silky smooth.
They ar not ready for adoption yet, but if you think you're interested, get the application process started not before these precious littles are snatched up.
We always appreciate your help and support, so here are the links to help us care for these babies.
Thank you and have a great week ahead!
