I’m a budgie owner

I love my Budgies, and have a large indoor setup. I’m a responsible breeder, only letting my Budgies breed 2-3 times per a year.

I often have Budgies for sale - inc many Chicks. I also rehome unwanted Budgies.

Indi surviving chick is doing really well.
It’s a little green & a keeper.
It’s 4.5wks old - leaning towards this being a little girl, but will be about 1-2 wks before I can confirm its name.

Sadly the younger of Indi chick passed away, but the oldest is flourishing.

Looks like this will be a green like it’s Dad Lexington who sadly passed away before it even hatched.

Indi is doing such a great job and this little chick is a going to be a keeper - keeping my fingers crossed it take after his dad.

A little update to say Indi is doing a fantastic job rearing her 2 chicks on her own. Now 11 & 9 days old, eyes open and doing really well.

A little update for you all on Indi and her chicks.

The 2nd chick hatched on Thursday and so far Indi is doing a great job feeding them both, especially in the current heat!

I’m giving her extra food & support with things such as millet in the nest box etc, but so far she is doing great.

Mixed news to share with you today.

Great news - we have had a hatching! My first chick of 2026.
This is from Indi & Lexington.

Unfortunately yesterday I came home to find Lexington had suddenly passed away, so poor Indi is now left on her own.
She is a proven hen so I am hopeful she might be able to raise these on her own. Luckily she only laid 3 eggs, and 2 are Fertile, so she might be able to raise 2 on her own.
I will give her all the support I can, but with no other nests with eggs due soon, i have no opportunity to foster.

Will keep you all updated on how she gets on.

We have fertile eggs!

These 2 are a new pairing.

The Male - Lexington - is a Green TCB male who I brought in but hasn’t yet been breed.

The Hen - Indi - proven breeder for me from last year, and produced stunning chicks with the previous partner (Rio - who passed away over the winter.

As I knew Indi was proven, I wanted to pair with Lexington to see his potential - I only have 1 TCB female who has bonded with another budgie for now.

They have 3 eggs, and looks like egg 2 is fertile.

Time to introduce you to my first rescue/rehome in a while - meet the lovely Olive 💚

Brought in by a lovely lady who rescued this budgie after a work colleague threaten to release into the wild!
Olive did have a friend who had passed away, prior to this, so I believe her plucked feathers are down to stress of being without her cagemate.

She is being treated for this & is being kept separate while settling in.
Hopefully she will be able to join the main flock in a few weeks, but she already seems happier being in the same room as the flock.

Breeding cages are set up with their first pair already settling in.

Also have my first rescue/rehome coming in today, so slowly coming back to the page.

These 2 beauties were abandoned outside a Vet’s, but are now in the care of Animal Rescue and Care - Twickenham. They are now looking for a new home - see post for more info
