Homemade Pill Pockets! 💊

These are so easy to make, dogs love them, and they contain NO preservatives or sketchy ingredients.
This recipe makes about 11 large pill pockets. Store in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to one week (or make a larger batch and store in the freezer for up to 5 months and thaw as needed) 😋🐾

*I used whole wheat flour, but just about any kind will do!

**New product making dogs sick!!**

Have you heard of PetLabCo's ProBright Advanced? This powder supplement is intended to help improve your dog's breath and even help clean their teeth. I have an honest, first hand review because we tried it on two of our dogs.

1. Most importantly, it made them both very sick. Our Weimaraner started vomiting every day, and as soon as we stopped the PetLabCo powder, he recovered and has been fine since. The effects took a little longer for us to notice in our Belgian Sheepdog, but he became very lethargic and wasn't acting like himself. Once again, we took him off of this supplement, and he almost immediately recovered.

2. Less importantly, this product didn't do a thing to help improve their breath or their teeth. We even took pictures to compare after about a month, and there was zero change.

If you do a quick search on this product, our dogs are not the only ones to get sick from this product. One was reported to have bloody diarrhea. The likely culprit in the ingredients is sodium hexametaphosphate, which carries side effects such as nausea, vomiting, GI irritation, diarrhea, kidney problems, and even bone loss.

Long story short, most products that claim to clean your dog's teeth don't even help - they may even harm. A simple toothbrush and dog-friendly toothpaste still reign supreme.

New blog post! What to expect when your dog goes in for a dental.

If you saw my previous post "What happens when you drop your dog off at the vet", the process for dentals is very similar. The moment the vet staff takes your dog and walks out of the room, they will likely be given a paper collar for ID purposes and have their blood drawn - usually from the neck -....

Here we take a look at Hills, Royal Canin, and Purina.

Hills definitely wins for highest carbohydrate content.
They are all tied for ingredient quality.
Purina wins for most dangerous ingredients.

All three source from China. Some are even made in China.

It is no wonder that dogs are getting sick from Purina.
