The donkeys made some new friends over the weekend! We all enjoyed a fun visit with Tessie from Maine and Hanna and Jamie from NYC. Mary made a strong connection with Tessie that was super sweet to see. We took a break in the shade and talked about donkeys, everyone’s favorite topic! ❤️🫏❤️

He’s also discovered his voice! 🎷I’ve heard him bray now on several occasions😊 Remember when we thought he might be mute? He didn’t make a sound for more than two years. So, hearing him bray is very good news. YAY FrannyFran😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’ve been organizing and sifting through the miscellaneous stuff that somehow keeps accumulating everywhere. Yesterday I collected all of the old, partially, and unused seed packets and emptied them together into a teacup. Mixed them up and then scattered them into the garden where the chickens and duck had been laboring arduously to prepare the soil. Some seeds were from 2021, so it will be interesting to see what -or if anything comes up - to be continued!😊🌱

Always great to see Zach. He is fantastic with the donkeys and they’ve all grown to know him and trust him over time with his regular visits. He trimmed all 64 hooves and took home a Bee Haven wristband. Thanks so much to everyone who made a donation towards hoof care - very needed and much appreciated ❤️ Zach will be back on September 3 for the next round of hoof trims🫏😊

Quinn and Quigley are two of a kind. Yesterday they were having a great time running around, stirring things up.
Pepe reacts by jumping up when they run past and moves to stand next to Mary, then lays down next to her. Lastly, Blanca wanders over to see what’s up.❤️🫏❤️

These hollyhocks are getting so tall! They’ve self seeded each year and the hummingbirds love them. Special thanks to the goats for their contribution and commitment to providing nutrient dense fertilizer for the garden 🪴 🐐🪴
