We had a few more “cats” at the stray buffet a few days ago. Little Nala was not sure where these odd kittens came from but she graciously allowed them to fill their bellies.

My Boy Blue continues to push onward and upward. He enjoys being out with the crew he once knew but also seems to enjoy his solo time with his foster mom. Could this be because she has special snacks?

Blue went for a checkup yesterday; according to the team, he was a very good boy. He was re-tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV and both came back negative! The vet also did a completely blood count (CBC) to recheck his organs and make sure everything else is in order; these results will be back early next week. Because his latest dental exam revealed he is actually at least 12 years old, we are being extra cautious and making sure that we have not missed anything and his adventure did not cause any issues.

He is being reintroduced to his feline family and seems to be very happy to not be alone anymore.

Blue is doing well despite his complaints about isolation. Personally I think his ability to complain at very loud volumes for a very long time is a testament to his strength and tenacity!
He goes for a follow up with our regular vet tomorrow to make sure everything is okay.

A few weeks ago, Blue pulled a Houdini and escaped from his foster family’s home. They searched everywhere at all hours but he just was not there. Then, we were walking through a building that had been checked several times when I heard a sad meow. I looked all over the ground, wondering if he was hiding behind something. No … he was in the ceiling! He stuck his head through a hole in the tile and yelled at me with everything he had!
If you think he was ready to be rescued … you would be wrong. It took another four days of baby talk and food bribery before we finally caught him. He was NOT happy to relinquish his freedom but he was clearly dehydrated and malnourished and needed to let someone else take care of him.
We are currently at the Shores Veterinary Emergency Center to be sure he doesn’t need any immediate care and that his organs haven’t suffered any long term damage. The veterinarian said she was surprised he was in such good condition considering his adventure. I showed her his initial picture (first slide) compared to now (last video) and she agreed that he looks much better now. Pending blood work, we can take our adventurous old man home tonight and let him relax in isolation until he is ready to rejoin the group.
As always, many thanks to Lindsey Baublitz for sharing her expertise and offering tips and tricks to bring Blue home! 😺

If you enjoy having someone all up in your business with zero regard for bathroom habits or your desire to sleep alone, Ruby might be your new best friend!

Ruby is an adult female tortie, spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. She has been around dogs and cats but not small children for several years. She does have some strong opinions when her personal space is invaded (who doesn’t?) but she is more sass than swipe and rarely says no to being distracted by a catnip or laser toy.

If you are in the central Pennsylvania area and are interested in adding some tortitude to your life, please reach out for more information and an application.

Posting for someone who does not have social media. FIND TOBY in PA will be contacted later today.

This young female (?) cat has been hanging around the Shippensburg PA area where our friend is a caretaker. We are not very familiar with the area but it’s on Strohm Rd near JGL on Walnut Bottom.

Kitty keeps trying to get into the house. She seems friendly and likely easy to catch if needed but we are hoping someone recognizes her.
