This is Captain McStumpy. My description keep disappearing. 😩
he came from Ore City. I’ve had him for a few months. The vet says nothing is broken. He has a nerve injury causing him to not feel his leg. I’ve been waiting til he was big enough for surgery. That day has finally come!! Looking for sponsors to help with his amputation and neutering. This is going to make him so much faster! He’s a very able bodied little kitten. He runs and jumps and climbs. ❤️
If you’d are interested in adopting let me know.
Donations are a blessing.

This little angry boy came in last night unable to put weight on one foot; from Lone Star safari park in Jefferson. He saw my vet today. 3 of his toes are VERY BROKEN. One toe is even missing the bone end. The injury is about a month old. We are going to give him time and meds to heal on his own in hopes we can avoid surgery.
In the comments on the finder’s original post some people were speculating a foot trap caused this. This guy is very young and the park doesn’t use any traps like that. It is possible got his foot in the macaw cage while climbing. Macaws, depending on the species have a bite force of 500-2000 psi !!
If you would like to donate to “Lonestar Louie’s “ care I’ll put some options below. And as always donations directly To Spencer Vet Services in Gilmer Tx are always welcomed!!

Lost Children of the Wild

They arrive in boxes and blankets and hands
Lost children of the wild
They are cold, hungry and missing their mom
Like any other displaced child

They have survived the unthinkable trauma
And they have found mercy with human care
They are brought to us each and every day
And they come from everywhere

We settle them in and get them warm
And give them everything they're needing
We tend their wounds and hunger
A constant marathon of feeding

Our wild ones are the treasures
Of a wilderness gone long before
They have adapted to our intrusion
And cannot avoid us anymore

It is our duty to provide
A place where they can grow
For "Nature taking its place"
Was lost to people long ago

So my thanks to those who take the time
To bring the baby that you found
To someone who knows just what to do
And will keep it safe and sound

And after dozens or hundreds of feedings
And long days and longer nights
Will release it back to where it belongs
And make our intrusion a little more right

As much as you all know I love kitties, coyotes are completely misunderstood. Everything has a necessary place.

Coyotes: Nature’s Unlikely Wildlife Protectors?

We usually think of coyotes eating cats as a bad thing (and yeah, it can be if your pet is outside). But here’s a wild twist you may not have thought about…

📉 Outdoor cats are one of the biggest threats to native wildlife.

According to studies:
🐦 Cats kill up to 4 billion birds
🐭 And 22 billion mammals in the U.S. every year

Now enter the urban coyote…

In a city like Los Angeles, with around 2,000 coyotes, they’re estimated to eat up to 4,000 cats a year.
And if each of those cats would’ve killed just:
• 50 birds per year, that’s 200,000 birds saved
• 100 small mammals per year, that’s 400,000 rodents saved

👉 That’s potentially 600,000+ wild animals spared annually — just from coyotes doing what they do naturally.

So yeah, it’s a weird thought — but coyotes might be accidental heroes in keeping nature balanced in our cities.

We’re not saying you should cheer them on when they take a cat — but maybe it’s time to see them as more than just pests.

🐾 And hey — the solution is simple: keep cats indoors.
It protects them and the wildlife around us.
