Aftercare organizations should have to report to HISA exactly how many horses come to them so broken that they can never have another career or even be pasture sound.
Why do racing connections expect aftercare organizations to handle all expenses when a horse breaks down?
If a horse gets injured while racing, shouldn't that be the responsibility of the owner and trainer?
Maybe if it was, some people might be more mindful of their practices.
An organization we know of was contacted yesterday to take in 3 horses from 3 different tracks, 3 different connections....all injured with new career limiting injuries. 1 has been running with known chips in both knees for a year.
This is what is killing the sport. Not HISA
