Doing our best to keep the terriers doing terrier things. In a designer dog world it makes sense that we have drifted harder and harder toward mixed up terrier mutts. They shed, they don’t always play nice, they are independent, they have a full time job, and they have to earn their keep.

The number one trait we look for in a puppy is confidence. A confident puppy grows into a confident dog, and confident dogs are a pleasure to live and hunt with. On the other hand, nervy and reactive dogs are difficult to live with—and they certainly won’t hunt.

We see many dogs from pet breeders come through the kennel, where the only factor considered in the breeding decision was coat type. As a result, these dogs may have a non-shedding coat in the right color, but they’re often nervy, reactive, and difficult to train.

Choosing the right puppy from the right breeder can save years of frustration.
