Classic Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula. Such a well loved species for good reason! Most are very docile and unlikely to flick their urticating hairs, and the females will live a longer time than most tarantula species, with males living to be around 5 and females have been recorded to live to over 30 years old!

If you were wondering who was popping up in my stories- This is Albert! He is a Yellow Crowned Amazon Parrot and 26 years old.
Swipe through the pictures to see his one year transformation! From yellow to green again!

We ( ) got him just over a year ago, and he’s gone through the most amazing change! He was fed parrot junk food his whole life- ad-lib seeds and nuts with human food thrown in, including marmite on toast, and whole cooked chicken bones! He’s now on seasonal feeding system recipes, cutting down on seeds and adding in fresh veg. I am confident this change in diet along with regular showers has caused the drastic change in colour- back to what he should be! We are so lucky he doesn’t have fatty liver disease as we expected due to his yellow feathers.
He’s a very chatty boy and loves to say his name, whistle, shout bye and a few other dinosaur noises!
Favourite toys are the ones he can shred, plus his new foraging box!

I recently picked up 17 new Tarantula additions, including some incredible species such as my Thrixopelma pruriens (Green Velvet Tarantula) Pictured above, a Homoeomma chilensis (Chile Flame Tarantula, and Euathlus sp. green (Green Femur Beauty Tarantula).

Excited to get some great photos of them all!

First show of the year! I have got a table at the South East Arachnid Show at the end of next week- 26th January 2025. 11am-5pm at the Ashford international hotel, Kent.

I have been working steadily on getting my website up and running with my full portfolio and new stock. If you would like to check it out prior to the show on Sunday, you can view it at MotleyExotics.com.

You might spot a sneak peek of a new item on there, which I will be displaying at the show in time for Valentine’s Day, or just a great gift for loved ones.

All your support across these last years have meant a huge amount to me. I really love doing this and being able to create my anatomically accurate creatures for people to enjoy, and my zoo style enclosure labels for all of you too!

I’ve been very busy working on this exciting opportunity for the Nightfair Market clientele recently.
I will be attending the Nightfair before Christmas market this Friday, 6th December only, as both MotleyExotics and for the first time, multi-award winning company, too! I will be bringing our 8-month-old owl ‘Pig’ and our cutest, most cuddly, rats - Ron, Neville, and Peter! You will be able to hold Pig on a falconry glove for a photo, or relax with one of our rats on your lap, for a small fee which always goes back into the care of our animals.

As usual, my range of anatomically accurate insect sculptures will be available, including my new weevils with their classic boots and snoots 🐜 (I need a weevil emoji)

I would love to see you there, these markets are always one of my favourite things- such a wonderful atmosphere, brilliant artists with a range of items which can always make incredible Christmas gifts!
Definitely come visit, it’s free entry, if you don’t want to miss out!

-This show is very central in the UK, so may be an easier one to visit for many of you!

“Come and immerse yourself in world of Entomology! The show is attending by some of the hobbyists biggest suppliers and related businesses in the Uk with livestock, drygoods and gifts available on the day. As well as trading on the day there are workshops with guest speakers and the famous Wild & Deadly show for children.”

I’ve been busy lately with my animals at home and at work, so I cut back on non-commission needle felts, however last minute I’ve decided to get a table at the Essex arachnid and invert show! I’ll be next to , so you can’t miss us!

Hope to see some of you there!
I’ll be bringing my non-custom labels for most inverts, my new needle-felts, some stick insects, and other terrarium items too. Should be a great show!
