Meet Smoking Gun!
In 2019, at less than 4 years old, Smoking Gun (or Smokin’, as his friends call him) was rescued from a Tennessee auction along with his pasture mates Renegade, C**t, Maverick, & Atticus. Had ECPR not intervened, these boys were surely destined for the meat trade.
As a symbolic gesture of empowerment, our founder chose strong names for this band of brothers as they began their journey into freedom.
Today, this adorable little fella, known for his striking blue smoke coat (which transitions from dark grey to light silver depending on the season), is the leader of our mini boy pack - taking charge and regularly heading up races and other antics. When he's done horsing around, he relishes a mid-day sun nap, and will be first in line at a fresh salt lick.
Smokin' also really enjoy spending time with our farm staff. When in his enclosure, you’ll never have to go looking for him, as he’ll be sure to find you first. He loves a good neck scratch, and is always appreciative of anyone willing to pick the hay out of that messy forelock of his.
We sure love this special little man!
