Pup Date: Zelda (formerly Gwendolyn)! 🐾

Back in December, our sweet girl Zelda (formerly Gwendolyn) found her forever family, and after making the journey home in January, she has officially embraced her new life as a New Yorker! 🗽

Now that she's had a few months to settle in, it's safe to say she's absolutely thriving. Her mom is completely smitten with her, and by the sound of it, the entire household revolves around Miss Zelda—which is exactly how she likes it. 😂❤️

She's the definition of a gentle giant and is now just over 110 pounds! 🤯 When Zelda first arrived at the shelter, she weighed only 60 pounds, so needless to say, this girl has been growing like a w**d!

Here's what her mom had to say:

"She is so loved and spoiled. She has a mind of her own. If she doesn’t want to walk one way, we walk her way." 🥹

Honestly... it's Zelda's world, and everyone else is just living in it. 💕

Her mom also recently did a DNA test, and we're patiently waiting for the results! 👀🧬 Our original guess was that Zelda was a Great Pyrenees mix, but now we're wondering if she might have some Akbash in there too!

What do you think? Drop your best breed guesses in the comments before we get the results! 👇🐶

A very special thank you to Debbie, who connected us with Zelda's amazing mom and helped make this adoption possible from start to finish. We're so incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in giving this beautiful girl the life she deserves.

Happy tails, sweet Zelda! We love seeing you so happy. ❤️🐾

Shelter Pet Safety Net has done so much for Paws In Your Hands Rescue over the past four years. If it weren't for their support, some of the dogs we've helped simply would not have made it to their forever homes.

Time and time again, they have stepped up when animals needed them most—helping cover critical expenses like health certificates, medical care, diagnostics, heartworm treatment, and so much more. They are truly one of the unsung heroes behind many of the happy adoption stories we celebrate.

Now they need our help.

If you're able to donate, even a small amount can make a difference. And if donating isn't possible right now, sharing this post and helping spread the word would mean the world.

Let's help ensure they can continue saying "yes" when homeless pets need them most. ❤️🐾

🎉✨ ADOPTED: ELSIE ✨🎉

Sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for… and that was certainly the case for our sweet Elsie. ❤️

A few months ago, this adorable girl was brought to my attention after finding herself in need of a new home. From the moment I saw her, I knew there had to be someone out there who was meant for her. While her journey to finding that person took a little longer than we expected, I never lost faith that the right match was out there waiting.

Today, I am beyond excited to share that Elsie has officially found her forever home! 🏡💕 This week, she’ll be leaving Texas behind and heading off to start the next chapter of her life with her new mom—a chapter filled with love, comfort, adventure, and all the happiness she deserves.

A huge thank you to Ashley and Tiggers TX Transport for helping make this adoption possible. Your support, kindness, and dedication to helping dogs reach their families never goes unnoticed. We are so grateful for everything you do behind the scenes to make these happy endings happen. 🐾

Cheers to new beginnings, endless cuddles, and a lifetime of love ahead. 🥂🐾❤️ We can’t wait to follow along and watch this sweet girl thrive in her forever home.

Safe travels, Elsie. Your happily ever after is waiting.

✨ Foster Update: Zora (formerly Bethany) ✨

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a few weeks since Miss Zora (formerly Bethany) left the shelter and began her journey into home life! 💕

Since entering foster care, this sweet girl has been soaking up every bit of love, comfort, and attention she can get—and honestly, she’s thriving. While we already knew Zora was an incredibly friendly, affectionate girl, she continues to remind everyone she meets just how special she is.

Like any queen, Zora knows her worth. 👑 She can be a bit of a queen bee at times, and while she had a few bumps adjusting in her first foster home, that experience was still such an important part of her journey. Every step has helped her learn, grow, and get one step closer to her forever family.

A huge thank you to Anahi for opening your home and heart to Zora over the past few weeks. Your kindness, patience, and dedication gave her the chance to decompress, experience life outside the shelter, and begin learning what it means to be loved. You will always be an important part of her story, and we can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for her. ❤️

Now, Zora has settled into a new foster home with Terry and Brock, and she’s fitting right in! From the updates we’ve received, it’s safe to say this girl leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets. In fact, we think there’s a serious risk of falling in love with her if you spend more than five minutes together. 😍

Thank you to everyone who has supported Zora along the way. It truly takes a village, and this beautiful girl is proof of what happens when people come together to give a dog a second chance.

Stay tuned for more updates from our favorite little queen. 👑🐾

From shelter stress to couch naps — Zora, formerly known as Bethany, is finally getting a taste of the life she always deserved. 🤍

Safe, peaceful, loved, and completely at ease. These photos say more than words ever could.

A huge thank you to Anahi for opening her home and heart to foster this sweet girl and help her begin this next chapter. Fostering truly changes lives, and sometimes all a dog needs is a soft place to land while they wait for their forever home.

It’s official — Bethany, now renamed ✨Zora✨, has been adopted! 🖤

This sweet mama dog is officially leaving shelter life behind and heading toward the happy ending she has always deserved. Her new family is so excited to welcome her home, and we already know this girl is going to be absolutely adored.

We cannot wait to watch Zora thrive in this next chapter. Congratulations to one of the sweetest pups around! 🐾

A huge thank you to everyone at Bastrop County Animal Shelter, along with Shelter Pet Safety Net for helping with her medical needs and making this possible.

And finally, congratulations and thank you to Jaime and Themy for opening your hearts and home to this deserving girl. 🤍

✨ Meet Elsie! ✨

Elsie is an adorable, spunky little girl who is ready for her next chapter and hoping to find the forever home she deserves. She’s around 2 years old and the perfect portable size at just 18 pounds fully grown—we do not expect her to get any bigger.

We do have her DNA test results, and she is a mix of several breeds, primarily poodle and terrier. That said, if you are specifically looking for an allergy-friendly, non-shedding dog, Elsie is not that dog, so please do not apply if that is what you are hoping for.

Elsie has been raised in a home environment and is looking for a new placement through no fault of her own. Her family loves her deeply but recognizes they cannot provide what she needs right now and want to ensure she has every opportunity to live the full, happy life she deserves.

She’s described as a true sweetheart who absolutely loves other dogs and has done well around children. She has not been tested with cats, so a cat-free home may be ideal.

Elsie has typical young dog energy and leans toward the higher-energy side, so she would thrive in an active home that can keep her mentally and physically stimulated. She knows some basic obedience, but she would benefit greatly from an adopter who is patient and committed to continuing her training. With structure, enrichment, and consistency, she will truly flourish.

Despite her playful energy, Elsie is also a serious cuddle bug. Her current owner says that when she’s not busy playing fetch, she’s happiest flopped right in your lap. She absolutely loves to cuddle and would make an incredibly affectionate companion for someone who enjoys a dog that wants to be close to their people.

Because of her personality and energy level, we feel she would do best in a home with access to a yard (preferably fenced). She would also do wonderfully with a playful canine companion who can match her zest for life, though she may not be the best fit for a home with a senior or low-energy dog.

We are very particular about where Elsie ends up and will be thoroughly reviewing applications to ensure the best possible match. If you are interested in adopting her, please be as detailed as possible in your application so we can get a full picture of the life you would provide.

Medical:
Elsie is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on monthly prevention. She’s ready to find her people and start her happily ever after.

📍 Location & Transport:
All of our dogs are located in Texas and are transported to adopters once adoption is finalized. Transport is included in the adoption fee, and Elsie can be transported to most northern states.

Back in December, I had the privilege of working alongside my rescue partner, Debbie, who was helping someone search for their forever dog. She was specifically looking for a Great Pyrenees mix, and after learning more about what they were hoping for, I connected with Wendy—who introduced me to Gwendolyn, now known as Zelda. From that moment on, the rest was history. 💫

Last weekend, Zelda officially made it to her forever home in New York and it’s already very clear that she’s living a very loved (and very spoiled) life. 🏡✨

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this happen—from the shelter team, her wonderful foster, and our amazing transporter. A special thank you to Shelter Pet Safety Net for helping with this case, and to Debbie for once again helping a dog find their forever home. 🤍🐶

🚨 URGENT COURTESY POST – FOSTER NEEDED ASAP 🚨

Meet Sabrina — a stunning Great Pyrenees (possibly a mix) who is about 1 year old and in urgent need of a new foster home (or, even better, her forever family) ASAP. 🆘🐾

Sabrina was found months ago in the Valley, a known dumping area, and was thankfully saved by Bluus Cluus Texas Street Rescue. They stepped up to get her fully vetted and into a foster home, but her current foster situation is ending, making the need for a new foster extremely urgent.

💬 From her foster:
Sabrina is an amazing girl — crate-trained, obedient, and a joy to have around. She loves being outside, exploring, playing with other dogs, splashing in puddles, and having fun with the water hose 💦. She’s dog-friendly, social, and also enjoys relaxing and lounging outdoors.

Sabrina is an easygoing, affectionate pup who just needs a safe place to land right now. 🏡🤍

👉 This is a courtesy post. For more details or if you can foster immediately or are interested in adopting, please contact the originating rescue directly:

Please share to help Sabrina find the home she deserves. One share can make all the difference. 🐶✨
