Please welcome Bowden and Rooster to the Freedom K9 family!

These two sweet goldendoodle@puppies are littermates from . They were donated to a great cause - together, Freedom K9 and DD collaborated on an auction item at ‘s first casino gala!

You probably saw our previous post all about so we figured it was time to introduce the puppies!

Each puppy is going to a separate family, but both puppies went directly into training with FK9. As littermates, it was very important that we start immediate training to help them transition to their new families. So far, we have been working on everything we usually include in our puppy programs, including:

Potty / crate training
Handling drills for the vet / groomer
Addressing puppy nuisance behaviors such as biting/nipping, jumping, barking
Play fundamentals
Exposure/ Socialization/ Neutrality / confidence building
Foundational behavior learning concepts (food luring and clicker training)
Creating independence
…and more!

So far these 11 week old puppies are sleeping 6 hours through the night, are quick to settle down in the crate, potty outside like a dream, are super social, are fabulous with handling drills, don’t jump and are sharp as a tack when it comes to our obedience training sessions.

We are so excited to continue following their journey!

Sweet adorable baby HAZEL is here to stay with Trainer for a couple weeks while her parents are on vacation.

Hazel started right away with our puppy lessons where we addressed all the typical puppy necessities such as potty/crate training, jumping, play biting, spacial management, exposure/socialization, confidence building, play basics, conditioned relaxation, recall fundamentals and so much more!

Now we will be adding in named obedience behaviors and leash manners.

We also might be using her to film some learning content for our clients.

We are super excited to have her as a house guest for the next few weeks!

Welcome back, Orchid! 🌺

After completing her On leash board and train, Orchid took some time off to grow (and catch up with those ears!) Now, she’s back for another few weeks to master Off leash skills like recall and place. We are so excited to see her progress!

Welcome Venus to the Freedom K9 family ❤️

This XL Bully is one heck of a stunner 😍 While she has the most amazing personality, she has some VERY big feelings that present themselves with extreme leash reactivity…and she’s got the size and strength to back up those feelings.

We are working hard to help her channel her excitability into more productive areas so that she can be a delight to walk on the leash.

Stay tuned for this turn around because it’s going to be 🤯

Hey all! Lindsey here (Owner, Head Trainer of Freedom K9) 👋🏻. I want to take a moment to thank the Rock Hill Police Department K9 Unit for this incredibly sweet representation of gratitude. It truly means a lot to me.

Over the last few months, I’ve been volunteering time with this K9 Unit as a dog training advisor. I’ve been asked many times over the last few years to “suit up” for many units and I always responded with the sentiment that I was busy with work and my protection sport that my dog and I compete in. Truthfully, there aren’t many departments that can let go of ego and take on a student mindset.

Rock Hill PD K9 Unit is anything but that - every handler I have met is extremely humble, hard working, eager to learn and a joy to train with. The knowledge they already possess is incredible and their desire to only get better is quite refreshing.

The collaboration we have created has been a privilege to be a part of and we are only getting started!

Introducing Usy! This cute little fella started with our puppy lessons and is now here for a 4 Week Board & Train to round out his on and off leash obedience.

We will also be implementing greater impulse control, working on jumping, and overall decompression.

We are excited to share his progress along the way!
