For each pup that finds a new home with TAL, a portion of the proceeds will go to support a rescue or shelter nominated and voted on by the TAL community.

Hi everyone! 👋

Like so many businesses these days, we're making a pivot. Our goal is to reduce pet scams and puppy mills by providing a safe and secure marketplace to connect pups with loving homes. At the same time we want to support shelter dogs as much as possible. 🐾

I received some great advice a while ago, that first a business needs to succeed to make a difference. We've taken this to heart and transitioned fully to purebred and designer dogs for now with the same mission of reducing pet scams and puppy mills. Once Posh Pups is successful, we aim to donate to shelters and add them to our site. ❤️

In the meantime, It's my pleasure to introduce you to our new name with the same goals. Meet Posh Pups! 🤩

I'll be shutting down the Twice As Loved Facebook and Instagram pages in a week but we would love for you to follow us on one or both platforms . 🤗

While dog ears vary in shape and size, they all serve the same purpose of offering incredible hearing - up to 45,000 Hz in fact. Here are three things you may not know about them.

1. At least 18 muscles work to rotate, lift and raise the ear enabling the capture of sound from different directions. It's believed that dogs tilt their heads to pinpoint where a sound is coming from. 👂

2. Even on a quiet night, the world is alive with sound. Dogs can hear digital alarm clock frequencies and even vibrations of termites in walls.⏰

3. Puppies are born deaf. Hearing is the last of their senses to develop, taking around two weeks for ear canals to open. Once they can hear, it's about four times better than humans. 🐶

It's tempting to share food with your pup, but people food may not be the best for them.

To keep off the pounds, table scraps should never be more than 10% of your pup's daily calories.

To keep them from begging, make sure the puppy is in another room during meals and offer table scraps on top of regular dog food at scheduled meal times.

Also don't forget to puppy-proof your kitchen to avoid counter- top surfing and dumpster diving.

Meet Wilbur, the new Mayor of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky!

Rabbit Hash has never had a human mayor. The tradition began as a fundraising idea to have an animal as a mayorial mascot for the town.

Wilbur, the six-month old French Bulldog, is the sixth dog mayor and has been a breath of fresh air in 2020 for this town of avid dog lovers. ❤

🐕 Unlike obedience classes where the owner is the trainer, at dog boot camps the pup stays and learns obedience with the trainer over several days.

🐕 The period of time depends on the pup's age, behavior and training goals and pricing is usually between $500 - $1,250.

🐕 Be sure to research several near you as playtime, cost, and results vary. We're also happy to give you some recommendations if you need them.

Meet Pistachio! reports a surprise to Sardinian farmer, Cristian Mallocci, who discovered that one of his farm dogs had a tiny green puppy. Pistachio is one of five mixed-breed pups and the only green dog out of an all-white litter.

As you may imagine, green dogs are a rarity and are believed to happen as a result of a green pigment known as biliverdin which can be found in the womb. Pistachio was bright green when he was born and is slowly fading each day.

Farmer Cristian Mallocci says that green is the color of hope and luck and that during these tough times of the pandemic Pistachio’s arrival brings faith of a better future.

While having two puppies may be overkill, having two dogs or an older dog and a puppy may be beneficial in the following ways:

🐾 Exercise: You’ll still need to lavish your pups with love and affection but adding another dog to the pack can help both with exercise and entertainment.
🐾 Anxiety: Having another pup in the house can help ease separation anxiety when you’re at work.
🐾 Training: If you already have one trained pup, it’s much easier for the second to learn from the first. Beware though, this can also occur with negative habits!
🐾 Rescue: This may be a great opportunity to adopt a pet that needs a loving home.

Some breeds bark more than others. Here are three main reasons dogs bark.

Puerto Rico has consistently been hit with natural disasters - from the pandemic to earthquakes to hurricanes. Taking pets from their overcrowded animal shelters gives both dogs and cats a better likelihood of finding their happy forever home.

The partnered with and to transport 130 dogs and cats to New Jersey where many had loving families waiting for them.

We made it back to the dog park after more than 3 months of recovery on crutches where Leo promptly caught up on his enthusiastic and questionable dog sniffing. 🙄🐶🍑

Every once in a while Leo's morning routine consists of serious leg chomping. While it's perfectly normal for dogs to scratch and chew on their limbs and paws on occasion to relieve itching, owners may want to be mindful of excessive chewing that can be harmful and could result from fleas, ticks or an allergic reaction. If the chewing becomes a pattern, it's best to see your vet. 🐕🐕🐕

It's likely that dogs dream in a similar fashion to humans, replaying everyday activities that make up their life, like chasing, playing and, of course, eating. We're pretty sure Leo's dreaming about cats in this video. 🤣🤣🤣

Yesterday City Bark opened with 25% occupancy and a mask requirement. My dog Leo (in the doggie pool) ran his little heart out. 😷🐶🏞 #socialdistancing
