Question: Have you ever been out in the sun and wish you had a shade to get in/under?

These poor babies do too!!

They are chained and the only way to get out of the sun is to crawl under this piece of wood (which use to be the floor of an outside building that burned).

They have to belly crawl under — it is really not enough room for them to get under yet they push theirselves under it because the sun is burning their skin.

Not to mention, as you see in the pictures they have no water in the turned over buckets!

PLEASE CONTINUE TO CALL THE OPP PD @ 493-4511 or reach out to the Mayor and be their voice!!

They deserve better and so many of the Ordinances that the City of Opp has in place are being violated yet the City still refuses to help them!!

Look closely, you can see that one of them is even tied to the weight bar … and in the last pic the dogs were so tangled together they could not even move!!

OUR HEARTS ARE HEAVY this morning!
On Saturday morning, one of our volunteers was headed to Chipley, FL on Hwy 87 when the vehicle in front of her swerved and that is when she realized this little guy (who we named Tripp) was sitting in the middle of the road — it was around 5:30 a.m. and still dark … our volunteer turned around quickly and went back — only to meet a car… she was holding her breath and praying that they wouldn’t hit him.
Thankfully, she was able to get him out of the road, sadly he had been hit before she got there and was in shock — with no houses nearby and no identification on him she brought him home.
Thankful for Dr. Nichols and all of his staff for all they did to help and for loving on him. They did bloodwork, x-rays, ultra sound, and had him on IV fluids and medications.
Unfortunately, Tripp had damage to his pelvis and internal injuries that his precious 8 yr old body couldn’t handle.
He passed peacefully during the night.
Our hearts hurt but we are also thankful that God put him in our path and that for the last couple of days he was being loved on and wasn’t by himself on that lonely road.
We did check for a chip in hopes we could find his owners but he didn’t have one…

Rest In Peace sweet boy!! 💙

More about Cher ❤️✨

We wish we knew her story … all we know is she was wandering for at least a month — she had no safe place or food to eat and was covered in ticks. One of our volunteers went to the Florala/Lockhart area to try to find her but with no luck. So when we were contacted by a very sweet lady about her whereabouts, we dropped everything and went to get her.

Today, Cher is full of life, she is gaining weight, and her coat is shining.

Cher loves to play with other dogs! She loves food and treats and to chill out on her elevated cot outside or on the couch when she is inside.

Cher is around 18 months old, 103 pounds and is up to date on vaccines. She is scheduled to be spayed in a couple of weeks.

This girl is a gem! If you are looking for a great addition to your family — here she is!!

Another video in the comments.

If you are interested in Cher or want to know more about her, please send us a FB message.
