Mouse had 4 gun pellets removed today. I cried the whole way home from the vet and am now enraged, so please bear with me as I write this. And this is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Mouse. There are things I haven't shared yet.
Someone shot him. Four times. In my own neighborhood. Check the last slides if you need proof.
The fact that Mouse accepts any interaction with me is a miracle in and of itself. The fact that I live near a (what's the worst thing I can call them without swearing?) makes me want to scream.
In a strange way, it's a good thing Mouse messed with his incision and needed to go to the vet a few days sooner. I'd noted the lumps under his skin but thought they were growths — something less than ideal but not urgent. Plus, the vet and I assumed any stiffness and discomfort he had was due to either age, stress, the neuter complication, his URI, or everything combined. Neither of us assumed he had four BB gun pellets in his body. One was resting right on his spine.
To the person who did this: I doubt you'll ever read this, because you're not someone who cares about animals. Actually, I can't even call you a person. You are less than. Have the life you deserve.
Note: Mouse was shot before his TNR appointment. He has been safe indoors with me ever since. I only wish I'd been able to trap him sooner.
