Jen is one of our amazing pet sitters and office staff members. She has been with Sarah’s Pet Sitting since 2016. She shares her home with her gentle giant Corbin, a 7½-year-old Newfoundland, and a lively flock of 10 chickens! She also shares her home with her daughters 2 dogs, Rosie and Odin and her cat, Lexa.

One of her favorite (and funniest) memories? Her first Newfie, Booda, once devoured 22 chocolate cupcakes in a single sitting! Needless to say, chocolate treats had to be stored way out of reach after that. 🍫😅

What Jen loves most about animals is the unconditional love they give. Every pet she’s cared for holds a special place in her heart—and she brings that same warmth and attention to every visit.
If she could be any animal? She’d love to trade places with Corbin for a day—he’s got the spoiled life down pat! 😎

💬 If Corbin could talk, Jen would ask if there’s anything she could do to make his days even better. That’s the kind of care and dedication she brings to all animals under her watch.

📚 Fun fact: Jen is a huge reader! She’s usually reading a book and listening to an audiobook at the same time—so if your pets like story time, they’re in luck!

Meet Drake, one of our incredible team members here at Sarah’s Pet Sitting! 🐾
Since 2014, they’ve worn many hats—including Trainer, Pet Sitter, and Office Manager—and bring a wealth of experience and heart to everything they do. They hold two certifications through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers: CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) and CBCC-KA (Certified Behavior Consultant, Canine – Knowledge Assessed).
What does that mean for you and your pup? Whether you’re working on basic training or navigating more complex behavior issues, you're in expert hands. We’re also excited to share that Drake has recently accepted a role as the Behavior Coordinator at the Berkshire Humane Society starting in mid-September! 🐶❤️ But don’t worry—he’ll still be available a few days a week for behavior consulting and management here at Sarah’s Pet Sitting!
At home, Drake shares life with three amazing dogs—Becky the 10-year-old Standard Poodle, Bug the 7-year-old Bluetick Coonhound Mix, and Solstice the 4.5-year-old Miniature American Shepherd—as well as three quirky pet rats: Dade Murphy, Cereal Killer, and Mr. The Plague. 🐀💕
Drake will never forget Gemma, the Aussie/Sheltie mix he had in his twenties, who once stole two filet mignons off the counter—then checked that exact spot every day for the next 13 years just in case more appeared! 😂🐕
What does Drake love most about working with animals? The connection between pets and their people. Drake says, “I love how intuitive dogs are in their interactions with humans, as well as how exasperated cats seem to get when people act like people instead of other cats.” 🐾💛

Our Story

Hi there and thanks for visiting!

Let me tell you a little bit about how Sarah’s Pet Sitting was founded in 2008 but first let me say that we now service all of Cheshire, Southington, Wallingford, Meriden, Hamden, North Haven and Bethany in case you’re wondering :-)

I attended Quinnipiac University and received my Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Technology. After graduation in 2007, I passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam which earned me the title Certified Veterinary Technologist.

I then went on to work at Mountain Lore Animal Hospital full time and started pet sitting for clients I met while working at the vet and in 2008 Sarah’s Pet Sitting was formed! After less than one year I was so busy pet sitting that I left my job as a veterinary technician to pursue Sarah’s Pet Sitting full time.
