🐾 The Why Behind Furfell Canine Adventures 🐾
People often see the adventures, the fell walks, the muddy paws, and the happy faces, but not everyone knows why Furfell Canine Adventures was created.
The truth is, Furfell was never about building a business to make money.
It was created for my children.
I wanted them to grow up understanding the incredible bond between humans and dogs. I wanted them to appreciate nature, embrace the outdoors, and learn that some of life’s best moments aren’t found on a screen but on a fell, in a woodland, or beside a stream with a dog by your side.
It was also created for my own dog, Rusty (Big Red). ❤️
Before Furfell existed, Rusty and I spent countless hours exploring the fells together. Watching him run freely, discover new places, build confidence, and simply love every second of being outdoors did more for me than I can put into words.
Those walks became incredibly important for my own mental health too. The fresh air, the open space, the companionship of a dog who was just happy to be there – it helped me through some difficult times and reminded me of what really matters.
Seeing how much Rusty thrived on those adventures gave me the push to start Furfell.
I realised there are so many dogs who don’t get those experiences, often through no fault of their owners. Busy work schedules, family commitments, health challenges, or simply not having the time to get out on longer adventures.
That’s where Furfell comes in.
I wanted to give those dogs the same opportunities Rusty had. The chance to explore, socialise safely, build confidence, and experience the joy of being out in nature.
Anyone who knows me knows that the money side of things is actually my least favourite part. I avoid talking about it whenever possible! The real reward has always been seeing a dog’s excitement when I arrive, watching their confidence grow, and returning them home happy, fulfilled, and tired after an adventure.
Furfell was built on a love of dogs, a love of nature, and a belief that every dog deserves a chance to experience both.
