If you have an apartment in Bansko that is empty we are looking for places for would be volunteers to stay - we have people offering to come and help us for a month or two if we can provide accommodation. We are desperately short handed so are happy to do so, but finding places short term at reasonable prices is difficult 🤦🏻‍♀️

We understand that people prefer to have long term lets, but we can't afford to pay long term for a place to sit empty, nor the weekly holiday prices offered by many (we fundraise everything, including paying for these places for visiting volunteers!) 💰

We know there are lots of empty apartments around, so if you are able to offer us use of your place at a reasonable price for any length of time please get in touch ... Maybe it can help you, and help us too! ❤️

🐾 GUS : URGENTLY LOOKING FOR A HOME, UK BASED 🐾

Gus is a darling boy that stole the hearts of many people around Bansko, where he spent 10 months in foster care. We thought he was super lucky to finally find a forever home in the UK, but unfortunately when he arrived the dogs didn't immediately get along. We offered help with introductions, and further guidance to the family of how they were to move forwards to settle the dogs, but they decided the same day they didn't want to keep Gus 😭

Gus has moved to a temporary foster home in the UK, where he is thriving. He has been introduced to 4 resident dogs without issue. He is living with teenagers in a busy home, and has taken everything in his stride - amazing, considering the bumpy time he had since leaving Bansko and all that he knew 🤩

Gus is used to dogs of various sizes and ages, having lived with a few different dogs in foster, and having a bunch of playmates around town too. Gus has a strong playful style, and is noisy when he plays too, but he can regulate his play level according to the people or dogs he is with. At the minute Gus can be nippy with playing, loving tug games especially, but there is no malice and you can easily stop his play. Gus regularly spent time with children since being a pup, and the worldschooler groups adored feeding him treats and walking him. Gus has good manners and cheeky ways, but settles nicely in the home and sleeps well. Gus is clean and non destructive in the house, and is crate trained too. He travels brilliantly in the car, walks great on leash, and has a basic recall in place. Gus is great with people and dogs, and isn't bothered by cats 🌟

Gus is almost 15 months old, and fully grown at almost 30kg. He is in wonderful health, fully vaccinated and of course neutered. He's a wonderful boy that just needs to find his people who will give him the chance to settle and find his feet. If you'd like to know more about this wonderful fella just get in touch, and if you're not looking to adopt please, please share ... if we can't find Gus a UK based home quickly he will return to his former foster here in Bankso, but there must be a great family out there with a Gus shaped hole in their life so he doesn't have to face the trip back! 🏡

Darling Raya is a young lady weighing just over 10kg. She is cared for by a watchman who wanted to be sure she couldn't have puppies, and we were asked to help with getting her neutered. She had the operation on Friday and all went well, and this nervous little girl is back where she knows and doing fine ❤️

Bansko Street Dogs

Non-Profit Helping the Street Dogs of Bansko, Bulgaria!

Our main focus is to prevent more dogs being born and raised on the streets of Bansko. To make sure we have less street dogs we need to make sure we have less puppies. Therefore we focus having them neutered by an extremely professional and beloved vet in Bansko. While the female dogs will be sterilized / spayed - the male dogs will get castrated under healthy medical conditions. All street dogs in Bansko we have helped so far were not healthy enough to undergo surgery instantly.

Most of them needed to get medical care and medicine first, having worms, lice (not dangerous for people) or other problems. Because the medication needs a few days to get in the dog’s system we rely on temporary care houses / people who foster the dogs in Bansko. Even-though these people might not have the money to feed these dogs, they open their houses for a safe recovery. We buy dog food, pay for the dog’s medication and bills from the vet. Everything else is donated by volunteers or paid for by the new loving family.

As we know from many years of experience in helping street dogs in other countries, healthy dogs are homed quicker. Therefore we ask you to donate money so we can prevent more puppies being born and to help the street dogs in Bansko.
