Before and after of regular client Guinness. When I first did Guin he had to be sedated and even then he dragged us around the field 🫠 but over time we’ve developed a good understanding of how Guin works, what makes him tick, and what he doesn’t like. Now he stands like a rock, allows a full clip including ears, no sedation no twitch 🫶 beautiful Isla rode a fantastic round jumping this weekend with a speedy stream line pony 🥰

💐 INTRODUCTION 🌷

I’ve had quite a few new followers recently, so I thought I would do another introduction!

I am Emma, I’ve been around horses since a child. After school I completed a level 3 ext dip in animal management, then went on to work on different yards handling a range of horses from sh!tlands and riding school ponies, to fit Olympic level eventers and grand slam show jumpers.

I have a chronic condition called premenstral dysphoric disorder, after years of being told “you just have depression/ anxiety/ it’s your work/ you do too much/ you’re just sensitive” so getting a break through was amazing and so validating. PMDD displays itself within the luteal phase as fatigue, migraines, excessive sleep/ insomnia, erratic moods including suicidal ideation, fear of being unwanted/ unwelcome and difficulty in maintaining relationships. Since diagnosis and treatment everything is under control and I am on a mission to spread awareness!

I started working for the ambulance service in 2017 on their paramedic apprenticeship program, I’ve been a paramedic since 2020 right before Covid. I adore my job, it has helped me become a very calm person- I think I’ve forgotten how to panic! I’ve had some amazingly rewarding experiences. I have a passion for mental health and care of the elderly. I work 48-60hrs a week with a mix of day and night shifts.

I bought my first pony at 15, she was a wicked 13.2hh Welsh section c chestnut mare, and she REALLY was a chestnut mare!! I then got my old boy, Snap, who was the horse of my lifetime. Unfortunately old man Snap was laid to rest June 2024 after 12years of love, I bought Sid (aka squiddy Sid) in March 2023 with the aims to event at BE90-100. He’s a super sensitive guy, it took us a while to bond. Back in March 2024 Sid became very unwell with colitis; colitis kills 90% of equines unless it is treated fast. Since he has fully recovered and we’ve come back better than ever!

I’ve been clipping since I was 16, I clipped for my friends and my ponies. I then started commercially clipping at 19, meaning I’ve been professionally clipping for 10 years! Over the years I’ve clipped some thousands of horses, developed great bonds with owners and gained so much experience.

I’m absolutely awful at posting on social media and even worse at messaging back, so please 🙏 if I haven’t gotten back to you by the next day feel free to nag because I need it 😂😂

🌷 TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPDATED AND HIGHLIGHTED 🌺

1. My radius is 20miles from CW2, any miles thereafter is an additional 50p per mile both ways, I regularly travel to Wrexham, Warrington etc therefore I am more than happy to bunch clips into area days or split mileage per yard
2. All horses MUST be presented CLEAN and DRY, this also includes being worked- please do not work the horse immediately prior the clip.
3. You MUST inform me of all behavioural factors that may pose a risk when clipping, I am happy to work with horses but I cannot be going in blind to clip a horse that I am not informed may be dangerous
4. If a horse is to be clipped under sedation you must inform me on booking; please inform me of oral sedation or vet IV.
5. I reserve the right to stop a clip at ANY point should I feel in danger. I will not continue until the horse is sedated.
6. I will always try my best to ensure the best possible finish on all clips, however this completely depends on the coat I am presented with, therefore if the coat is dirty or harbouring parasites this will not be a quality clip
7. I am NOT veterinary trained, whilst I will give my honest experienced advice I will always advise further assessment and support from the vet or other appropriate professional.
8. I reserve the right to work in a safe, clean area. Free from clutter, pools of water and excessive muck. There should not be loose horses or other animals in the areas which I am working, all children must be under close supervision from parents at ALL times.

3/4 from yesterday, Johnny (coloured) I had my groom help as she’s learning, she’s getting so good! Johnny had full clip with everything blended. Then 2 full clips; legs on, saddle patches, half head, mane, feathers and tail tidies. Finished off with an itchy boy, full clip and full head off ❤️ all super well behaved 🫶🥰

Goodest boy Ollie had his second ever clip yesterday, he’s wintered out well and his mum has found him to be very itchy and overheating. He was so well behaved, he even stood perfectly for a full head off ❤️🫶

I am aware that there are lines present, due to this being his second ever clip the aim it to get it off before he gets bored. We managed to do this when he just about started to get bored, when clipping youngsters and inexperienced horses you must ensure it stays a positive experience so that future clips you can take that little bit longer 🌷🥰

🌷💐 MARCH DEAL! 🌺🌷

Shetland ponies are often forgotten about, they are incredibly good at growing a double coat that is super warm and the best insulation against the harsh weather in their natural habitats on the Shetland islands. However through domestication and now that the weather is warming they can find it hard to regulate their temperature alongside owners finding it hard to accurately distinguish weight without use of weigh bridge.

During the whole of March Shetland full clips (including legs on) will be £35, yes £35 instead of £60! Take full advantage of this massive discount and get ahead of the spring grass before it fully shoots!

I’ve seen this circulating fellow clipper professionals, behaviour like this is the reason why we stop clipping all together. You must be honest with your clipper, I do my best to deal with horses who are nervous to clip. At the end of the day I have a full time job in the ambulance service where I have to lift and carry people out of properties etc, I can’t do this with half a leg 😅

Every year I attend Cheshire Horse Sanctuary Ltd to give their Shetlands a clip, this is so the staff can inspect and manage their skin and they can regulate their temperature better in the coming warmer months. I’ve been working with them for 3 years now and I adore every time I attend, all the people and ponies are just gorgeous inside and out ❤️

Hello again ♥️ Thank you all for your patience and support this last 3 months, treatment has been going very well and I’ve come to the conclusion that I simply cannot be away from clipping any longer I just LOVE it too much!! So as of today I am back clipping full swing 💚 Beautiful Freddie had a full clip and blend, his 4th time clipping and he had a full head off standing absolutely perfectly, doesn’t he just look handsome? 🥰 I’m so happy to be back, I can’t wait to see you all again ♥️
