🌻 JUST A BIT OF INFO 🌻

Sadly, I keep seeing posts or comments stating that im normally closed so not to try me for help.

I want to make it very clear here, that when I close its for a good reason. Its not just w***y nilly. And when I do close- you can guarantee i still take in 2-3-4-5 animals that are needing help.

One lady last week was so upset that id not replied within what she thought was a reasonable amount of time that she took to facebook and made incorrect accusations pertaining to my automated message and made out that I didnt care at all. This isnt ok. I spend every waking minute helping as many animals as I physically can. Im not a massive rescue, its just me and a handful of tra sport volunteers. Im contacted by vets, the police and the RSPCA for help. And thats in-between the hundreds of phonecalls and messages I get weekly. I do my absolute best and the more I see people lie and make out that I didnt help them, the more it makes me not want to carry on. The pressure is phenomenal. I dont have a closing time and so will often take in animals late and night, and sometimes in the middle of the night.

And this isnt just me, this is rescues up and down the country who get a constant barrage of abuse for not being able to help with that one animal when they have, in fact, taken in 10 so far that day.

We do this because we love animals and have a lot of experience in treating and rehabilitating animals. We dont get paid for it. Its in our own time that quite often takes us away from any sort of normal life with family and friends.

Please stop and think before you post on social media. Comments hurt and its not ok.

🌻 TWO LITTLE HOPS 🌻

Meet todays youngest intakes!

Coming all the way from Scunthorpe, these two baby leverettes ( brown hares ) needed some help after being taken away from their nest.

At first, in my delirious state I was thinking what is going on! But of course Hares start their breeding season in January and see it through right until September. So this is actually fairly normal if just a touch late in the month. Either way, they are weeny babies and will be hand fed for the foreseeable.

Hares are one of my favourites. For such tiny creatures they have sooooo much sassy tou wouldnt believe. They huff and growl and act all tough until they realise that what im actually trying to give them is in fact not poison, but nice warm milk. Normally it takes a day or two for them to get used to taking rhe milk from something that isnt their mum, but these two have latched straight on and drank like little angels. Makes my life easier.

Im running low on Cimicat, puppy pads and hand rearing formula for my army of pigeons. Can you help?

Please consider a donation, every pound helps and goes towards helping to raise little dots like these two ❤️

🌻 VIP IS ALWAYS BETTER 🌻

We had a very special guest here this evening in the form of a squidgy little hodgeheg.

Little Jon aka Sonic ( as named by the children that found him ) was seen scurrying around mid afternoon today. Hes far too little to be out and about, not to mention that hedgehogs shouldn't be out in the day time full stop.

As some of you know, i dont treat hedgehogs and will only give initial first aid when needed before passing them on to a hedgehog specific rescue. This is for many different reasons but the main one being that there are dedicated hedgehog rescues who specialise in that one species. And so will do the job much better then I ever could. But that's not to say that multi species rescues who also deal with hedgehogs arent very good with them, sometimes its quite the opposite.

This little 136g baby was safely transferred with one of our amazing team over to Wolds Hedgehog Rescue where Auntie Ann will be taking care of him until hes good to go back out into the wild. A massive thank you to her and her team for always being there to help!

Good luck little Jon 💓

Im genuinly lost for words!!! Those poor dogs and the staff!! Just horrifying!!!

Last night we were absolutely appalled and alarmed after being notified by our security company that there were 3 men walking around on site wearing balaclavas. 😡

We are all aware that these men were clearly up to no good and we dread to think of what it is they had planned, had they not been startled by the security alert. 😞

They were mainly focused on our dogs and could be seen on the cctv looking into each kennel.

Our site is fully fenced, however, we have an old fence that needs replacing that is lower than the rest and we believe this is where they gained access. 🙁

We are now fundraising so that we can get new fencing along this section to create more of a deterrent and to implement more security measures to try and prevent this from happening again. We were lucky this time that they got spooked but we can’t rely on luck forever.

If anyone noticed anything of suspicion around Pinfold, South Cave yesterday evening from around 7.15pm - 8.50pm, please let us know.

Also if anyone is able to donate any money, no matter how small, to go towards us getting new fencing in place and increased security measures then we would be truly grateful 💙

Here are our 3 lovely culprits in action 😠

🌻 ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE......AND BUBBLE BATHS 🌻

Its all off!!!! I think we are now totally clear of oil on this little ladies body!! The water has run completely clear and her coat is noticeably different.
Moving forward ill be using somw.groomimg wipes just to make sure there is absolutely nothing left and to save her anymore baths. Shes very good in the water but its easy to see she isnt keen.

Shes eating really well and has done a poo that was JET BLACK!! Poor little girl! Shes still on a heat pad under her bed at the moment as her body temperature drops quite quickly, hopefully thats just because shes been through a fair bit in such a short time and her body is catching up a bit. Needless to say im watching her like a hawk. Engine oil isnt made to be in the body and its a worry that shes obviously taken some in.

In between making sure she has everything she needs and making sure the battalion of pigeons are fed, you might wonder what else ive been up to? Well let me tell you!! Im currently on night 4 of keeping some little jelly beans (see pic below) alive. These little rat pups are being fed every 2 hours, and thats 24 hours a day. I cant quite explain how difficult it is! But we plod on and hope that the shops dont run out of redbull, which i actually think has replced my actual blood at this point.

I thank each and every one of you for your continued support. You've no idea the difference it makes.

Im going to pop the paypal link below for anyone who would like to help. I absolutely HATE asking for donations, but there is nothing I can do about it. With this season seemingly dragging on, I still need as much help as I can get ❤️

🌻 OIL AND WATER DO NOT MIX 🌻

Of course I agreed to help Never give up Rescue, why wouldn't I?

Ive had a fair bit of experience in dealing with animals and oil and im always up for an animal with attitude.

This poor little girl was covered, head to toe, in engine oil. Jet black, thick oil. I half expected to bath her and her be white or ginger or something 🤣

Getting oil off any animal is a process, its painstaking and requires patience and an awareness for when the animal has had enough and its time to stop and wait before trying again.

Luckily, she realised quite quickly that it really wasnt that bad and she would get tickles the whole way through which she really enjoyed. The majority is off but she will still need another round of bathing to get the leftover residue off.

Its such a pleasure to be able to help other rescues out when they need a hand. Its very fulfilling!

🌻 OF MICE AND MEN 🌻

The rodent family are a controversial one.

I happen to absolutely love them and believe that their lives matter just as much as anything else. And luckily, there are people out there who feel the same.

Weve seen lots of mice and even rats come through this season- some injured, some orphaned but all of them in need of help. These two little creatures are the most recent visitors.

The bigger mouse was a victim of a cat attack while the baby was found by an amazing human out running. All alone, his eyes still closed. Its very likely that he was predated and then dropped, far away from home and all alone.

Both are doing very well, and although the bigger mouse isnt a baby and doesn't need milk, its a really good way to get some calories into them as well as fluid. As you can see, he thoroughly enjoyed it! When I say 'milk', its absolutely NOT cows milk. We DO NOT recommend giving cows milk to any wildlife. The milk we use here is Royal Canin baby dog milk. Designed for puppies. While animals like rabbits and shrews have kitten milk replacer. Its important that its the right kind, its never the premixed milk that you can buy in supermarkets, instead its in powder form thats mixed to certain ratios. This is why its so important to get the animal to a rescue rather then make an attempt that could compromise the animal.

These little mice are two of hundreds that have spent time here and with a bit of luck and some effort, we can get them healthy enough to go back out into the big wide world for their second chance.

Thank you to their finders for getting them to safety and thank you to YOU! Yes, you!! The person who donated £1 last month, the person that donated £10 last week. Without you, I woudnt be able to buy the milk, the bedding, the carriers, the food, the incubators. I wouldnt be able to do what I do, there's just no way.

You all save lives through your generosity, you're all part of the Wildlife Alliance.

🌻 ONE HALF OF A WHOLE 🌻

Well.....

Everything hurts!!!

In between completely redoing the hospital, weve still dealt with multiple calls and taken in a further 16 animals over the weekend. Im really looking forward to winter when things start calming down 🤣

This is only half of it done, im going to have to keep saving up to get the other half done. I need approximately £600 now to get the other side the same, which includes more draw units, another worktop etc etc- but if I want more pods, that number is is significantly higher. For 4 pods it works out at just over £1000. Definitely something id love to do!!

For today though thats us signing off 🤣 exhausted doesnt even begin to cover it!!

Im going to put the paypal link below, just incase there is anyone out there who would like to help! Im aware ive asked for a lot and the anxiety is real- but honestly I cant do any of this without the generosity of you guys! Its just not possible!
