Tri Tuesday!!

These Aussies are always overlooked first. It’s the flashy merles that are picked first… however amazing personalities and stricking minimal white tris/bis are left behind.. I love love minimal white tris/bis… and they have been my BEST dogs… all around personalities and work ethic ♥️

First full day of life and these little chunkers are growing! All well over 1lb already! Jessie is loving being a mom, and doing well! 💜

Ohh Briar…. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time- and got quite the gash … so we headed off to the vet as it’s quite deep and large…

I asked the vet to follow MDR1 protocol. This is my new vet - and up until today I haven’t needed any large procedures on my dogs to request this.

Why am I asking for this protocol to be followed ? - Briar on paper is not at risk. You need two copies to have any risk… however that’s not always true. There has been dogs that don’t have any copies that have had effects. So I ask that alll my dogs are treated as if they would be affected.

Turns out that one of the medications on the restricted MDR1 list was a drug that was going to be used for her procedure. The vet was not 100% on MDR1- so I was an advocate for Briar and he welcomed more information and education - which I appreciated.

Not all vets are familiar- there is alternative medications that can be used. Please educate yourself on MDR1 before heading to the vet. Knowledge is power- protect your Aussie!

This litter theme is “Shades of Blue” fun little fact while I get some pictures together…

In the 1800’s Aussies were known as the “little blue dogs” before their name was what we know today - the Australian Shepherd. They worked along side herders in the mountains and pastures of the western United States.
