ANIMALS AND KARMA
Animals choose to come into our lives. They are part of our karma and we are part of theirs.
Sometimes they find themselves abandoned or wandering, in the middle of a road or in danger, in the heart of the night; sometimes they find themselves at the front door, as fate commands them; sometimes they come from loved ones, neighbors or strangers.
At least animals were already in our karma. In this life, as in others.
According to Brian Weiss, the same animal often embodies multiple times during our lifetime, simply changing form and coat, and being recognized by small gestures, details and subtle habits. This is clearly true with cats.
When a "new" animal comes into our house and knows exactly where to go, it's a sign that they just say again.
Many people, at the time of passage, receive the soothing sight not of a deceased relative, but of an animal. That means a lot. Because for our soul there is no difference between one species and another.
Animals are on our evolutionary path as we are on theirs, so we must respect them as sacred creatures and take good care of them.
They are part of us, in a different way from the universe.

I can’t emphasize this enough. Rescues are under attack. They are not under attack from good people. They are under attack from people who want to see the destruction of individuals who spend their time in their money, trying to save animals who have been unfairly abandoned by their owners and forced to live in unspeakable conditions. These are individuals who are so mentally unbalanced and angry that they’re willing to destroy the very people who dedicate their time for helping these animals. These are not people who are interested in helping animals. They’re interested in more cruelty, more harm and more degradation. They approve of violence as a means to an end but to an end that doesn’t make any sense. These individuals should not be applauded they should be shamed. And any individual involved in Rescue should be stripped of any nonprofit status if applicable, they should be barred from being involved in any rescue work, should be held criminally and civilly liable for any behavior and damage that they do to any party. Absolutely no one should be supporting us type of behavior and absolutely anybody who knows anything about anyone threatening to harm another rescue or anybody in rescue work should be immediately reported. Be responsible not just as a human be responsible for the animals.

To the feeders

Under the cloak of night, silently and without witnesses, kind shadows move, between alleys and coats.

They are the guardian angels, of sneaky glances and light steps, who give their charity, to street cats.

With every plate of food, with every gesture of love, they give hope to those eyes, that have seen so much pain.

They seek no fame or applause, their reward is more sincere, it is the grateful purr, of the life that awaits.

In every corner a shelter, in every gesture a song, cat feeders, are poets at heart.

With hands that do not judge, with souls that do not despair, in the art of giving without measure, they are teachers who teach us.

So, in the city that sleeps, there are heroes who don’t rest, they are the cat feeders, who weave webs of hope.

And though the world does not see them, nor their names are known, in the eyes of cats, their faces are carved.

Tabby Cat Rescue beginnings

Tabby Cat Rescue as a page has been 30+ years in the making. It all started a long long long time ago in the distant past when at age 11 in the middle of my parents divorce the kindest man I knew (other than my dad) ran a Humane Society and changed my life. I went there to escape home and fell in love with helping the animals. He took an angry child and soothed my hurt by teaching me how to heal the hurt of the animals there. He had an amazing sixth sense about them. Over the years I developed that sixth sense too. He was and always will be my cohort in difficult cases with an insight or suggestion I hadn’t thought of.

As a natural cat lover I felt a calling to help them most. Cats are all too often dumped outside to fend for themselves and become scared and prey for other animals. They don’t deserve that and we certainly owe them better, as much as we owe it to ourselves to be something better. I learned all about feral behavior and trapping. I learned how to rehab these terrified cats and kittens then fully re-imprint them with a better human experience. Over the years I honed these skills then privately, by referral only, moved my exceptional cats to new homes where their owners delighted in a real cat experience.

In honor of the man who taught me everything including so much about life this page is dedicated to you in the same way you misspelled my nickname. Without your patience I wouldn’t have all the memories from you that I do, and more importantly, your legacy of love of the animal continues in every animal I rehabilitate. Even as you memory fades your love of these animals shines through and brings you back for a bit each day. You are truly a patron Saint to them and, to me.

For the rest of you reading this, welcome. Come meet the crew and all the ones in transition. Exceptional homes are always on the wish list.
