Update as there seems to be quite a bit of confusion:
we are a rescue and a sanctuary. We have been doing this for many years, and we know how to care for rabbits. We know how to care for many species.
We recently did a large scale rescue of multiple rabbits which turned out most were already pregnant. we have lots of babies that were not expected.
We do not want to transfer any of these babies to another rescue or foster. They are fine where they are in the sanctuary.
We understand that vegans who are compassionate do still like living with animal friends, but are wise enough not to pay into the commercial Market. As vegans we don’t generally buy animals. This is why we are offering, only to those members in the vegan community, with whom we will have a discussion with and possibly get references if needed to determine if these are appropriate homes.
We are not going to release animals to just anyone and they will not end up in laboratories or dogfighting rings.
We are looking to see if there are any members of the Arizona vegan community that are looking for an animal friend to share their homes with and that might be interested in taking one of these rescued babies in and providing them a forever home within their families.
Again, we know how to care for these animals. We are only looking out for them to have the best lives that they possibly could. They will have fantastic lives if they stay here but if they can get their own personal home, it might be that much better.

At Earth babies rescue and moonchild sanctuary, we offer sanctuary for life to our residence. That has always been our intent at least. We have never put anyone up for adoption but we find that we are going to need to reach out to our community.
We have recently taken in multiple rabbits, all females that the majority appear to have been pregnant. We are currently overrun with bunnies.
we know that any of you who might take a rabbit would give it a home for life. If anyone is interested in one of these little furballs, please reach out and let us know. No cost, we just want everyone to get the individual love that they deserve. We know that the normal practice for adoptions is to charge a fee to assure that they are going to a good home but we trust our vegan community here in Arizona. We can’t possibly spend as much time with each of them as they should have and don’t want anyone to feel neglected at our sanctuary.
Earth babies is about compassion. Sometimes compassion means letting go to others that are better equipped to providing love and security. Of course, donations are always welcome, but if keeping your money will help you better care for any earth babies, whether it’s one of these cuties or another, then please hold onto it. We are a community and we understand that we all need help at times.

How to remove baby opossums from a deceased mother

🚫Educational Post🚫

If you find a deceased female opossum with babies in the pouch who are still alive, please DO NOT cut the t***s off to remove the babies or try to pull the babies off without knowing what to do. Cutting t***s can pose a serious choking hazard.

If you are worried about removing the babies, use a towel and pick up mom and babies and bring them to your local rehabber. We will gladly remove the babies.

Or, if you feel comfortable, you can gentle pull babies off the teet. They are very firmly latched on, and you may have to push against Mom for leverage as you slowly and carefully wiggle and pull them off. First, pinch off the teat to stop the milk flow and wait a few seconds. Firmly but gently pull baby off. Mom opossums milk turns toxic once she dies and can kill the babies, so the sooner they are removed, the better

Get all the babies into a container , keep them as warm as possible, and call your local nearest rehabber.

To the people who raised, neutered and dumped this sweet 6 month old boy at a gas station in the middle of a city where it’s lawful to kill raccoons on site; he is now safe at a sanctuary.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Please don’t dump any animal. Take responsibility and if you make a wild animal non releasable at the very least contact an admin of any of the rehab/ wildlife groups so that animal doesn’t get killed

Likely victims of humans who want to bring them in as pets when they’re the cute little babies and don’t foresee that they will grow. As they get bigger and sometimes unmanageable, humans just dump them back into the wild but they don’t know how to be wild.
Let wild animals be wild. If they need rescue or sanctuary, call someone who knows what to do and how to care for them. You’re well intentions could potentially be lethal to the babies. Not everybody gets happy endings like these two.

We must give great honor and respect to our benefactor. We have reached out to the community and we’re not disappointed.
So many times we see rescues and sanctuaries asking for donations, we ourselves have asked for donations for emergency medical needs or situations beyond our control. This however was different. We have been looking to move the sanctuary after the recent situation that we have had to deal with. We had taken so much loss from vandalism and theft it was heartbreaking. We also were in a hurry to try and get things settled so that we can continue and expand our ability to rescue and help more wild spirits in need such as the previously mentioned foxes that are in a temporary situation after being rescued from breeders for the fur industry.
Being that this is for the sanctuary itself and something that will be permanent, we felt it is our responsibility but we still needed assistance. We put a call out to the community asking if anyone could loan us the last $5000 we needed to secure the property. The most generous and compassionate soul answered our call. Because of his assistance, we have been able to make the bid which was excepted and have started the process so we could move in within a month’s time. The animals will be safe and well cared for.
We are very excited. We heard late last night that Earth Babies Rescue and Moon Child Sanctuary has found a new home on Rainbow Drive.
This could not have happened without the assistance of Daniel. He was able to step up for the animals and he did.
