Our Ozzy tribute litter has just turned one week old, and our home is a mix of joy and heartache. We're thrilled to see more and more tiny spots appearing and those little eyes starting to open!! But, amidst these moments of happiness, we mourn the loss of our fragile little girl, Sharon 😞We had so much hope for her as she was nursing well with Cleo, but our hearts dropped when we returned home after a short 4.5 hour outting to find her cold and struggling for breath 💔 Thankfully, our friend, my co-worker, veterinariann and neighbor, Dr. Lister, was there for us. She examined the little one, and gently explained that despite her eating on her own, her body wasn’t metabolizing properly. With Dr. Lister’s support, we made the heart-wrenching decision to let her peacefully cross the rainbow bridge. It was a difficult choice, but knowing it was the right one brings a sense of peace during this tough time. Thank you all for the support you gave and rooting our little one on. We appreciate the kind words!

During this time, they rely on the comforting embrace of their siblings and their loving mom, Cleo, for warmth. To add an extra touch of coziness, we provide a gentle, glowing heat lamp that keeps them snug and content! 💡

Cleopatra had an eventful night, welcoming 8 adorable puppies into the world! 🖤🤍 Among her litter, we have an even split of 4 boys and 4 girls, with two of the little gentlemen sporting charming patches! 😍

We couldn’t resist making the most of this gorgeous day! Three of our five Dals joined us on a refreshing trail walk, basking in the pleasant weather before the heat makes its return 🌞

Meanwhile, Mama Cleo is at home, taking it easy as we eagerly await her puppies’ debut! Her temperature was still in the low 99s before we left, teasing us with the anticipation of meeting the new additions. Fingers crossed, they’ll arrive soon! 🤞🏻

Did you know that a dog’s body temperature drops during labor because of a decrease in progesterone levels? ↘️📉 Progesterone is a crucial hormone that keeps the pregnancy going smoothly.
