Leon & Ferguson
This morning Leon and his good buddy, Ferguson, are entertaining me while I drink my morning coffee. Ferguson is a kitten from a litter I fostered last winter and ended up keeping. ♥️
I have four new kittens! I picked them up
Last Sunday night. I have two sets of two. They are cousins (same dad, different mom) and about a month apart in age, but very similar in looks. They are classic tabbies, which are tabbies with marbled markings, and they are gorgeous. They have been seeing Leon through the French doors of their foster room for several days and this evening I brought him into their room. The most outgoing kitten, Sasha, was immediately ok with him. She approached him fearlessly and rubbed and cuddled up to him like he was her momma. The others are coming around pretty quickly as well. More to come!
Leon and the Autumn Kittens
The new kits
Last night I traveled half way across the city to get a litter of six 4-week-old kittens who’d lost their mother. Of course, when I got back home Leon met me at the door and knew immediately that he had some new fosters. Nothing gets by that big nose of his! The kittens settled in nicely, and appear to be healthy and fat and all have good appetites. This morning I sexed and named them; three males and three females. Just for fun I named them after former Presidents and First Ladies: Ellie, Abby, Jaqueline, Abe, George and Jefferson
Take THAT big DOG!
It has been a while since I’ve posted but we’re still here rearing kittens! I still have 3 left of my litter of 5. There were two males who were much larger than the three remaining females, and they have already been neutered and excellent homes found! Both of them went to homes with dogs and cats. We are great at raising kittens who integrate well with existing pets. I always make sure it’s a home where the dog has a suitable disposition to accept the new cat. In this video we have that little sassy Pixel beatin’ up on Leon. He’s just as puzzled as I am as to why she was being so mean that day!

Crikey! There’s a critter in ma food bowl 😮
This kitten, Pixel, prefers everyone else’s food to her own very primo kitten food 😯 Leon takes it all in stride like the good boy he is
Always something interesting on Kitten TV
Leon and Pixel
I’ve had the new litter of kittens for a week now and they’ve proven themselves trustworthy (toilet-training-wise) to be allowed out of the fostering room into the kitchen area of the house. I get so much joy watching this little Pixel kitten sidle up to the dog. Actually, Pixel acts this way with my adult cats as well, and they are not nearly as accepting of her as the dog♥️
1 pound kitty rests on 120 pound German Shepherd
This is one of my new litter of five foster kits. Her name is Eyebrow. She took to Leon within minutes. I’m thinking these kittens had some exposure to dogs before coming to me.
1 pound kitten thinks 120 pound GSD is mom
One of the new foster kittens reallly loves Leon. The kitten’s name is Pixel and she immediately took to him. As you can see in this video, it looks as if she is searching for a nipple or something! The second kitten’s name is Eyebrow.
I decided to test the waters already tonight with Leon and the new kittens. I let the dog stick his head in the door when I was going in and out with food. There wasn’t much reaction from the kittens so I let him enter and told him to lie down. We got a mixed reaction from the kits; one hisser, 2 cautious and two that thinks he’s momma♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
