Finally got to meet miss Koivu today after shes gate crashed some of her brother's virtual lessons! 🫶🏻

Koivu is a very sweet service dog in training who started her training with and now that she's up here with her human we got together today to work on some PA skills and getting back into training post spay!

Being a herding breed Koivu has some unique traits that we have to keep in mind while we're working on creating a training plan for her, but she learns so quick and is honestly such a good girl!! ❤️❤️

It was a very hot but very successful first zoo trip for these two doodle babes 🫶🏻🐒🦁

The zoo is extremely challenging with all the smells, sights, and extra distractions that our dogs don't normally encounter. These two did so well with all the animals, working through distractions and challenges, and we successfully wandered around for almost two hours just checking everything out 🙌🏻🤗

(I also might have bought a zoo membership so more zoo training trips in the very near future)

Laser therapy and PT to help Mister Sprue boy get back to feeling his best 🤗

One of the perks of having no eyes: Genesis didnt need goggles for Sprue's laser therapy!

🐠Dog Training Adventures takes on New England Aquarium 🐟

Very proud of these dogs and how they handled it! The Aquarium is a tough public access trip for any dog and we ended up having such a good time 🤗

Also, pictures inside this Aquarium is such a challenge with how dark it is 😅

✨️We are CLOSED to Day Trains May 19th to 23rd! ✨️

If we have already booked boarding or lessons they will remain on the books unless otherwise rescheduled! I will be taking this week to just have some time to rest and relax after all the craziness of so many dogs in and out of the house!

I will also be using this time to actually create those virtual classes I've been wanting to do and just haven't had the mental energy to sit down and out together yet! Planned classes include a LEASH MANNERS class and Handling Service Dog Retirement

Please let me know if anyone has any questions or concerns!

Did you know? Dogs must be 24 months or older for OFA Hip and Elbow certification, and 12 months or older for Cardiac, Patellas, and Thyroid certification. There is no age minimum for eye certification, nor for DNA, since DNA does not change as the dog ages.

The OFA also does Preliminary evaluations on hips and elbows before 24 months of age. However, they will need to be re-evaluated again for a final certification once the dog reaches 24 months.

Individual breeds may have different minimum age requirements for their CHIC program, which is determined by their parent club.

About Nicole

I am a Small Animal Science graduate from Bristol Agricultural High School, where I graduated the fifth in my class. It was in my high school Small Animal Science classes where I realized that I loved working with dogs, with my Dog Training class taken in my Sophomore year being one of my favorites.

Since graduating in 2017, I was not sure where I wanted to go career wise. After taking a short break from Animal Science related things, I got my own dog, and while working with her training, I realized what it was I wanted to do when I grew up: Be a dog trainer. Not even a year later and I have received a Certificate in Dog Training and Behavior from Catch Canine Trainer’s Academy graduating with an overall average of 94%!

And that is just the beginning! I am hard at work learning more everyday, gaining experience from other trainers and animal professionals, and doing my best to become the best I can be! My next big goal is to earn my CPDT-KA, a highly renowned and high level of certification for professional trainers!

I am beyond excited to be on this adventure, and can’t wait to meet and pet all the dogs along the way!
