🔥🚨 Today (July 15th) is Pet Fire Safety Day, and it's a great time to make sure your home is a safe place for both you and your pets! Did you know that household pets are responsible for over 1,000 house fires each year in the U.S. alone? 😱 (Source: National Fire Protection Association)

As a pet parent, it’s crucial to be proactive and pet-proof your home. Here are some tips to prevent fire hazards:

⚡ Electrical Cords: Pets, especially curious kittens and puppies, love to chew on cords. Not only is this a potential electrocution risk, but it can also cause short circuits that may spark a fire. Keep cords out of reach, or use cord protectors.

🔥 Fireplaces and Candles: Pets often get too close to open flames or knock over candles with their wagging tails. Make sure to always supervise when your pets are near open flames and consider using flameless LED candles for a safer option.

🍳 Stove K***s: It's easy for pets to accidentally turn on stove k***s while exploring. A simple fix? Use k**b covers to prevent them from being turned on unintentionally.

🔹 Keep your pets inside during fireworks to avoid loud sounds that can cause anxiety.
🔹 Create a calm and cozy space for them with their favorite blankets or toys.
🔹 Ensure your pet has an ID tag and a microchip just in case they get startled and run off.
🔹 Fireworks are fun, but remember—some pets handle them better when they're well-prepared!
