🌾 Hay should be a H U G E part of a rabbit’s diet - at least 80% of their diet. Rabbits should have access to unlimited amounts of hay! Hay provides the necessary fibre needed for a healthy gut, so your rabbit can keep producing those round and golden poops 💛

Hay helps:
🦷 Grind and wear down rabbits’ ever growing teeth
🔍 Encourage foraging behaviour in rabbits so they’re mentally stimulated
🦠 Keeps the bacteria in their guts healthy
💪🏻 Provide high fibre (and other nutrients) and reduces likelihood of gut stasis

There are many other types of hay available in Australia: barley, teff, meadow (or rye), fescue, Timothy, and orchard. The rescue bunnies at Centennial Park Rabbit Retreat gets their fair share of oaten, rye, and timothy hays every day. Providing a mixture of hay to our bunnies gives them different textures, smells, and tastes to enjoy 💚🌾

Join us for a day full of bunny love!
We’ll have adorable baby bunnies looking for their forever homes — and you can take part in our live bunny naming by making a donation on the day.

Plus, we’ll be hosting a Bunny Education & Grooming Workshop for just a $10 donation. It’s the perfect chance to ask all your rabbit care questions and get tips from experienced rescuers.

🐇 Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want to learn more about rabbits, this is your day to hop in and say hi!

💡 Pre-adoption approval is required to take a rabbit home on the day.

Our bunnies from Centennial Park Rabbit Retreat were fortunate enough to be on the TODAY show teaching audiences that rabbits are not impulse pets and need lots of care and love!

Rabbits are amazing animals who are curious and social pets. They can be extremely rewarding if given the right environment and enrichment 🐰
Unfortunately, they are one of the most misunderstood animals and they are often neglected because of it.
Some statistics show as many as 40% of rabbits are surrendered within the first year of being owned.

If you’re looking for something like that packaged in big ears and a fluffy tail, enquire about adopting or fostering one of our rabbits!

Our final of four rabbits joining us tomorrow - Winnie.
Winnie is a gorgeous tri-coloured mini lop. She is curious and adventurous, and isn’t afraid to steal your bed for a nap! She loves outdoor time in the garden but is also house trained and toilet trained. She may be a bit shy to start, but with a loving family she would warm up in no time!

Our third wonderful rabbit joining us this Saturday is Cara.
Cara is a gorgeous 8 month old cross breed rabbit who loves to explore and lounge around. She is very friendly and curious, and loves a head scratch.
