Today we said goodbye to Suki :(
Suki enjoyed her last couple of months here at the rescue, or I like to hope ❤️
Sukis death could be said to be a result of the 'pet industry'
Animals that are interbred for aesthetics, sold cheaply to people who don't know how to care for them or bother enough to learn...if she would have been neutered, there is a high chance she would have lived a much longer life :(

Please stop supporting breeders...they are causing a lot of pain :(

Its Rabbit Awareness Week and Posy says that rabbits deserve to be treated with respect and you shouldn't open your home to rabbits or any animals unless you can -
Give them an enclosure that meets their welfare needs - for rabbits thats at least 3m x 2m x 1m AT ALL TIMES(If you think rabbits are okay to be kept in hutches at night then you should also try living that way ✌️)

Have the funds to be able to give them ALL the medical treatment they may need...from vaccines to dentals to emergency treatment! If you can't or are unwilling, you shouldn't have animals in your care!

Ensure you are letting them live as naturally as you can, they aren't solitary, they dig, the chew, p**p and wee(maybe places you don't want, they BITE and SCRATCH and children are not really the best companions for rabbits(or most animals)

Be open to learning and taking on new guidelines and expert advice! I've come across a lot of people who are stuck thinking they know best...fyi you don't!!...be open to learn and change, we all need and can be better!

P.s. Posy will not be your pal if you try to argue against the minimum requirements...we don't care how much you "love animals" or how "happy they are" being kept in "cosy hutch at night" 🤮 Don't even bother 🥰

Our little toothy friend Stevie has had two operations now...
The first to remove all the matted fur and have the lower front teeth removed
The second to remove the top front teeth and to be castrated, he has been through a lot and will most likely require his teeth to be monitored very closely all his life :(
He has been through so much for such a little fellow, he has been a real trooper and it's just so sad that people breed these animals into existence just for their own greed.

He is on the mend now and has been playing a little more today 🥰

Animals are not ours to play god with, breed and sell, not toys, not ornaments, not less than us...anyone who thinks they have the right to intentionally inflict pain on a living creature are way weird!

Easter!! Always a time for awareness! But don't forget...animals suffer all year round :(

Rabbits are not Easter gifts, they are not good companions for children, they should not be kept in tiny cages and hutches.

They are intelligent, sentient beings who shouldn't be bought and then abandoned so easily.

It's so hard to see the state many animals are in when they come into a rescue.

So if you consider buying animals as Easter gifts or on a whim...grow the fudge up! Go buy some chocolate or a teddy(ethical ones of course😅) and educate yourself on how to be a better human! ✌️
