Raven's Reptile Rescue UK 🦎 Registered charity | Home-run rescue.
🐸 Rescuing, rehabilitating & rehoming small and medium reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

Welcome to Raven's Reptile Rescue. We are a completely non-profit reptile rescue based in the UK. We are hobbyists who specialise in small and medium-sized reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. We are here to help provide a safe home for abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in-need animals. We rehome many of our rescues; however, if for any reason they are not suitable for rehoming, we aim to look after them for the rest of their lives.

This post is just to say a huge thank you to everyone who plays our lottery. We only have a handful of players but thanks to you we got our first payout this month. While to some a little over £30 isn't a lot it is when you without you have nothing to rely on but your own wage. Me and Matt work full time to keep a float and sometimes it's hard but even a little support means a lot. Thank you 💚

Macaroni, or as she is now called, Mochi, was adopted on Saturday. You wouldn't believe she was a rescue case, found in a rub with an unregulated heat mat and had been sprayed daily. She was soaking wet and skinny, receiving a zero point five body score from the vets and had to be nebulised to ensure that she didn't have any respiratory infections due to how humid she was kept. We wish Mochi all the best, but know her new owner will treat her like the queen she is 💚

Just in.
An eight-year-old Halmahera Blue-Tongue Skink and a six-year-old Royal. I took the picture of the royal in their travel container as they quickly hid in their new space. They both will be quarantined.

We quarantine all animals that enter the rescue so we can monitor their health and get to know their personalities before they go up for adoption. Quarantine has no time limit. It's based on the animal and their needs.

Sadly, little Neo passed away yesterday evening. We were really hoping we got to him in time, and knew it was always going to be an uphill battle. Honestly, we both have been struggling a little, and this has hit us really hard.

We are going to leave his fundraiser up and use the funds raised to pay for the next emergency vet bill in his honour. Thank you to anyone who has donated.

Little Neo arrived on Sunday, the 8th March. He was skinny, had stuck shed, clear mouth rot, and a lump near his left eye. We removed the shed and cleaned his mouth. He had a vet appointment on the 9th, and it was confirmed that he has severe mouth rot, which may have led to the lump. Vets are hoping the lump is just an abscess, but it could be a tumour. Vets cleaned out both eyes, but the left eye was not visible and may not be there. Neo is currently on eye drops, antibiotics and pain medication. Depending on how the lump heals alongside the mouth rot, Neo may need surgery to remove it. Neo is on critical care food due to his not being able to eat well.

Vets' bills run into the hundreds, so we can run a fundraiser to help cover the cost and provide much-needed help to Neo.

Grumpy was adopted last night 💛.
His new owners were sold the first picture of the setup from a "experienced" reptile shop 😠 Unfortunately, the information and equipment they were provided are outdated and no longer advised. They had spent over £300 to have his setup ready. We worked with the owners, providing resources, equipment and the correct substrate, all for a donation, because we could see how much they already loved Grumpy. The second video shows Grumpy's current setup. More greenery can be seen on top of the Viv, and we sent him with one of his favourite bits of corkbark. 💛
