Thanks to Kylie's K9 Images & Designs for capturing the moment I feel like the light bulb turned on for Tipsy this past weekend. This was her second retrieve of her first test and I could tell something clicked in her head.

As our first keeper pup, we are very proud and excited to see what her future holds!!

On another note, we are hanging on to Sturg for another week or so till his people are able to bring him home. Since his owner is going with the name 'Trapper', why not have him tag along to the trap range for our daughter's high school trap team's fun day. Ol Trapper wasn't fazed in the least as you can see. Of course, he wasn't front and center to the gun fire, but he sure didn't mind it from the picnic area!! This probably has some part to do with all the sensory exposure they get while with us.

What a weekend! Took Amos and Tipsy down to Prior Lake for an HRC hunt test at the Horse and Hunt Club. While the weekend wasn't without hiccups, hilarity and some humility... we walked away with 1 Seasoned Pass for Amos and 2 Started passes for Tipsy's very first appearance. All in all, a worthwhile weekend with old friends and new.

A big thank you to Lake Country Retriever Club for all of your hard work this weekend. Your efforts are much appreciated. Especially the banquet dinner, that brisket was top notch!!

Amos x Cleo 8 weeks!

The remaining boys are doing awesome and already hauling in dokkens. They are finally getting to enjoy some outside time again after 3.5 days of constant rain!!

And so it begins...

Mr. Pike headed home with his new family today. His people have chosen the name Henry. There were so many connections with this family it was almost uncanny. Just gives us that warm feeling like it's the perfect fit. We hope you enjoy Henry as much as we have!!

Just a PSA as the boys start going home this weekend: protect your investment! While it is tempting to show off your new pup to the world, please refrain from public places that are open to dogs like pet stores, home improvement stores, sporting goods stores and dog parks. At least until your new guy gets his vaccine boosters

As a general rule, refrain from contact with unfamiliar dogs.

Amos x Cleo week 7!!

It's all about the ears!!

Oh how the time flies! The boys are now 7 weeks old!!! They have all managed to make good use of the litter tray in the enclosure and are good citizens about keeping their living area fairly clean. They have had lots of visitors this week. The boys are now on dry whole kibble as of yesterday. We will be including a couple sample bags of Diamond Pet Foods large breed puppy that they are currently on.

They haven't has as much outside time as last week with this recent heat wave. We did turn on the AC in the kennel and they don't mind pealing up the corner of their blankets and lay their bellies right on the concrete! The boys have really grown into their personalities. Quite the characters!

New families: just a reminder to have first time/well check appts set up with your vet within 10 days of their gotcha day.

Thanks for all the interest in Sturg! He has found his home... home on the Range (See what I did there)

While this is our last in-house litter for 2025, we will be studding a couple outside females this summer if you just can't wait for next year. Otherwise, it's never too early to get on our list for 2026!!
