Today, our Möbius Garden Horse Rescue & Sanctuary family has lost one of our most beautiful supporters.
While Jackie Van Oel was never one to seek recognition, she was one of our biggest cheerleaders. She may not have supported us financially, but her love, encouragement, and unwavering belief in our mission were priceless. Every fundraiser, every photo, every post, every success and every hardship, we could always count on Jackie. She commented with kindness, shared our mission, rallied behind us, and reminded us that what we do truly matters. This loss is especially close to our hearts because Jackie was William’s beloved mother and my cherished mother-in-law. She always believed in her son, believed in our mission, and loved our horses as if she knew each one personally. She celebrated their victories, cried with us through our heartbreaks, laughed with us over our silly horse stories, and stood beside us through every chapter of our journey. One of the things that saddens us most is that Jackie was never able to visit the sanctuary in person. After losing one of her legs, getting out became incredibly difficult. We hoped and tried so many times to bring her here so she could finally meet the horses she loved so much, but it just wasn’t possible. Even though she never got to walk our property, her heart was here every single day. She knew their stories, loved their personalities, and cheered them on from afar. Jackie, thank you for believing in us, for lifting us up, for sharing our mission with others, and for loving these horses with your whole heart. Your encouragement gave us strength on the hardest days and made the joyful moments even sweeter. Fly high, sweet Jackie. May you rest peacefully, spread your beautiful wings and know that your kindness, love, and unwavering support will forever be woven into the story of Möbius Garden Horse Rescue & Sanctuary. You will always be part of our family. You will always be missed. Until we meet again
