We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in the Youngstown, OH area Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home unwanted dogs by creating better lives for them through rescue, foster, training and adpotion The ones that need extra time and training, the ones that need to learn to trust again. Introducing Bud!

We were able to pull him from the Mahoning County Dog Warden. This poor boy has pneumonia and has a tumor that he will need surgery for once the pneumonia is gone. We were able to place him with a foster until he can heal. We’ll keep you updated on Bud’s journey. ❤️‍🩹

This week for we’ve got Reese, who was a part of the candy bar litter. 💕(Jamison, who is still at our rescue, is Reese sibling!)

“Where to start? Well, Amanda sold me my first home back in 2018. I promised my kids once we got our own home that we could get a dog and we had mentioned that to her. Fast forward to 2020 and the rescue had just gotten in a liter of puppies, the candy bar liter. I set up a visit and immediately fell in love with Reese. Funny thing is, that Reese's are me and my husband's favorite! After the visit, my husband said lets get her, it will be your Birthday present. We set up to foster to adopt her. We kept her name of course! All I can say, with it being the time of covid beginning, she was everything I needed and more. She was just the missing piece my little family needed. She is my protector, nurse, and best friend. Every Dog Matters Rescue has some of the most amazing people doing amazing things for these babies and I thank them with all my heart for giving me one of the greatest gifts!

Rush is one of our longest residents at the shelter and we have no idea why!!! Rush loves toys and playing, but he’s very passionate about getting all the pets and lovies. He has great manners, loves everyone, and is wonderful in the car. Really, he just wants to be loved! Rush is around 3-4 years old and dog friendly.

This week is National Volunteer Week, and we wanted to take a moment to shout out our amazing group of volunteers! (Not every volunteer is pictured)

We are so blessed to have a group of dedicated individuals that do everything they can, every day, to help local dogs in need. As a completely volunteer run, nonprofit organization, we could not keep our doors open without them. Through blood, sweat, and a lot of tears, our group does everything they can to make a difference, and we are so proud of each and every member. 🐾 Loves to snuggle at night -but on his terms 😆
🐾 Wants to be by your side all day- whether you're cooking, cleaning, or relaxing.

We are in desperate need of fosters! The more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. Please watch the video for FAQ about fostering.

We are specifically looking for a foster for a sweet, friendly, calm shepherd that is going to need surgery, and he needs a safe place to recover. Meet Vader!

Vader (formerly Sherman) was pulled from MCDP, as he was found with injuries indicative of being hit by a car. He’s only a baby at 8 months old! He appears to be dog friendly as well, and gets along well with his foster fur siblings. This boy has a road to recovery, as he just had his surgery, but it would be amazing for him to heal with his forever family.
