Ohio decided today we were doing all four seasons before bedtime, so naturally I spent the evening speed-walking through what is now our backyard lake to dry off Murphy and put his blankie on before the temperature drops 30 degrees.
Meanwhile I’m dressed like a confused marshmallow in my giant coat, hood, muck boots, and sweatpants aggressively tucked in like I’m about to enter a professional mud-wrestling competition.
The horse and pony are living their best lives like nothing is happening, Murphy is mildly offended by the owl blankie situation, and the baby goats think this whole event is a cuddle opportunity.
Farm life in Ohio is basically just monitoring the weather every 12 minutes and dressing like a survivalist while your animals judge you. And then posting it on the internet. 🙃
Mud season is upon us. And we’re having a good time. 🫠
