What a day and night!
Lottie started labor yesterday afternoon around 3:30. We spent the evening and all night laboring away until about 8:30 this morning when she began to push.
Things were going fine, a water sack had broken and Lottie was pushing, and then she just kinda stopped pushing even with regular strong contractions. No pushing.
Off to the emergency vet went! After a little Oxytocin at the vet, she still wasn’t having much progress, and some of the babies were showing a little distressed heart rate, but X-ray showed no puppies stuck.
So we prepped for C-section, and while waiting for that process, Lottie started having her babies! 😅
We ended up delivering all 6 babies in the exam room, with no vet assistance other then checking in on us from time to time.
We have 4 girls and 2 boys, all doing well and so is mama Lottie!
We are home and settling in, and so thankful we didn’t have a c-section!
We have 2 black and cream dapple females, a shaded cream dapple female, a shaded cream female, and 2 shaded cream males.
Our pics are a little icky being not at home and with our limited supplies we thought to bring with us, but here’s the babies! And a humongous thank you to my most amazing midwoof, and cousin Clarissa for all of her help today! We did It! 🙌

💡Whelp smarter not harder!💡
For years my midwoof Clarissa and I have been using a hard plastic kiddie pool on the floor for the girls to whelp in.
Well our backs and bums have thrown in the towel. Sitting on the floor all night assisting with deliveries for 6..8..10 hours has become a real pain!

Baby Basinette to the rescue! Lottie & Willie give it two paws up! 💕🐾
