🏴‍☠️ Pirates Night on the Hook at Mattawoman Creek last weekend was a swashbucklin’ success! The barge was alive with laughter, lanterns, and plenty of pirate swagger. Every matey dressed to impress—from feathered hats to flashy swords—and even the pups showed up in full buccaneer style 🐶🦜

A thunderin’ thank you to Prince William Marina for sponsorin’ a feast fit for the high seas. Dinner and breakfast were top-notch, and kept our crew fueled for all the revelin’.

Everyone made sure their pirate ships were donned well, flyin’ their colors proud and true. Though some pirates partied into the wee hours of the night, none walked the plank… though a few scallywags might’ve earned it 😄⚓️

Here’s to fair winds and full sails—until next time, keep yer compass true and yer rum stocked! 🌊🍽️

🦐✨ A little late, but absolutely worth the rewind! Let’s talk about the unforgettable Prince William Yacht Club Annual Seafood Boil that lit up early August like a summer dream. 🌞⚓

We’re still basking in the glow of that perfect day—over 260 guests came together to celebrate community, sunshine, and some of the most mouthwatering seafood you could imagine. From buttery corn and spicy shrimp to crab legs that practically melted in your mouth, the spread was nothing short of legendary. 🍽️🔥

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get sweeter… 🍦 Mister Softee rolled in like a hero from a summer fairytale, handing out ice cream cones that made kids giggle and grown-ups grin. It was the cherry on top of an already magical afternoon.

🎶 Laughter echoed across the marina, boats bobbed gently in the background, and the air was filled with the kind of joy you wish you could bottle up and keep forever. It wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of everything that makes our community special.

💙 A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible volunteers—your energy, dedication, and behind-the-scenes hustle made this day shine. And a very special shoutout to Prince William Marina for not only providing the perfect space, but also clearing it out with care and surprising us with some truly generous giveaways. You went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful.

We’re already dreaming about next year’s boil—but for now, we’re holding onto the memories and the smiles. 🛥️🦀🌊

🚤⚓️ South Bay Trip Recap – York River Yacht Haven 🐬🌊

What a weekend to remember! Our South Bay trip to York River Yacht Haven was filled with sunshine, stories, and unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to the incredible team at York River Yacht Haven for the warm welcome, refreshing drinks, and the gorgeous charcuterie board — y’all really rolled out the red carpet for us!

We also can’t say enough about York River Oyster Co. — the food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were flowing, and they graciously accommodated our lively crew for a fantastic happy hour. If you're heading that way, it's a must-stop spot!

The trip down had a little extra excitement — sporty seas made for some dramatic entries! A few boats wisely pulled into the Astle’s dock to wait out the weather. It’s always comforting knowing we’ve got amazing friends all over the river and bay. Meanwhile, others were treated to calm waters and were lucky enough to have dolphins playing in their wake — pure magic!

Once we were all safely docked, the weekend was all about laughing, lounging, and reminiscing. The pool was the perfect spot to unwind, the conversations flowed as easily as the cocktails, and the sense of community was stronger than ever. These trips remind us why boating isn’t just a hobby — it’s a lifestyle and a family.

Safe travels and calm seas to those continuing on with the adventure — we’ll be living vicariously through you while the rest of us return home with full hearts and sun-kissed smiles. ❤️⛵️ Until the next one!

What a picture-perfect 4th of July weekend at Three Sisters! ⛵️✨

We spent 3 peaceful nights on the hook and 4 unforgettable days on the water, surrounded by everything that makes summer magic — breathtaking sunsets, dazzling fireworks, dinghy races, rope swings, laughter, love, and lots of good food.

And let’s talk about the weather — truly picture perfect from start to finish. Honestly, we all agreed it might have been the best weather we’ve ever had for a 4th of July weekend. Not a cloud in sight, just sunshine, calm waters, and cool breezes all weekend long.

A total of 17 boats made the journey — some dropped anchor for a night, others stayed the entire weekend — but no matter how long you were there, the PWYC family made it one to remember.

There’s something special about this crew — the way we come together to celebrate life on the water, sharing meals, stories, and belly laughs until the stars come out.

Grateful for every memory made and already dreaming of the next adventure. ❤️⚓️💙

Father’s Day Weekend at Colonial Beach – A PWYC Tradition We Cherish! ⚓💙🌊

What an unforgettable weekend with our PWYC family at one of our favorite annual destinations—Colonial Beach! Every year this trip brings new memories, lots of laughter, and time well spent with the best boating crew around.

We kicked things off Friday evening with a fantastic happy hour at Dockside, generously sponsored by PWM. The drinks were flowing, the stories were plenty, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been better—thank you, PWM, for always showing up for the crew!

Saturday morning brought sunshine, smiles, and a delicious breakfast hosted once again by our beloved Dockside. Their hospitality, food, and charm never disappoint—seriously, we can’t get enough of that place!

The rest of Saturday was spent exploring downtown Colonial Beach, where everyone enjoyed the festive parade, live music, great eats, and a stunning fireworks display that lit up the sky and capped off a perfect day.

While Sunday brought a touch of gloomy weather, our spirits stayed high—and most importantly, everyone made it home safely and is tucked back into their slips.

It was truly an eventful weekend. There’s just something magical about time spent with our PWYC family—a weekend full of connection, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Until the next adventure!

🌹🏇 And they’re off...! 🏇🌹

What an incredible Saturday at PWYC for our Kentucky Derby Party! While the rain poured down in Kentucky, we were lucky with dry skies and perfect party weather at the marina — not a drop in sight! ☁️🍹

Our very own horse race was one for the books — full of laughter, friendly competition, and photo finishes that had the whole dock buzzing! From the delicious food to the show-stopping dresses and fabulous hats (oh my, the hats!), everyone brought their A-game in true Derby style. 👗👒🏆

A special thanks to Heidi and Philip for hosting such a fantastic event! Your energy, creativity, and attention to detail made the day unforgettable. Thanks for bringing back an old favorite and making it better than ever!

Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable day. Can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🥂🐎💐

Opening Day 2025 — A Splash-Tastic Start to the Season! ⚓🌞

What an amazing Opening Day we had this past Saturday! The morning started off a little gray, but the rain cleared just in time — and while it was a bit chilly, that didn’t stop our crew from showing up with big smiles and warm hearts, ready to celebrate, connect, and kick off another unforgettable season on the water.

We gathered for our General Membership Meeting followed by a delicious lunch — the perfect way to catch up and fuel up before the festivities. Then came the traditions we all look forward to: the Flag Raising and the legendary Sock Burning 🔥🧦 — because nothing says “goodbye winter” like setting your socks on fire (safely, of course!).

A huge round of applause to Mike Strano, who navigated us through a super informative seminar on boating navigation apps — tech meets tides! And hats off to Mike Walsh, who shared critical tips during the First Aid on the Water seminar. You never know when those skills might come in handy – though hope we never need, and now we’re all just a little more prepared. 🙌

Lou Ward gave us the scoop on this year’s Photo Contest and dropped some great tips on how to capture those perfect boating moments — so get ready to snap some magic this season! 📷🌅

We wrapped up the day with a fun and festive Happy Hour, full of great drinks, laughter, and that signature PWM spirit. The docks were buzzing with energy, excitement, and dreams of summer days to come.

Employee Appreciation Dinner – A Night to Remember!

On Saturday, we celebrated the amazing staff of PWM with our annual Employee Appreciation Dinner! 🌟 What an incredible turnout!

📢 No-Change Change of Watch – A Night to Remember! ⚓✨

This past Saturday, we celebrated our No-Change Change of Watch! With our board in an off year—no elections, no changes—we decided to shake up tradition and do something different. And WOW, did we succeed! With a record-breaking turnout of attendees and PYWC members, the night was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and celebration.

🏆 Congrats to Rick McHarg for winning the Steamboat Willie Award for the second year in a row! This fun award goes to a captain who had an “oops” moment on the water—nothing serious, just good laughs and a little “Vessel Shaming.” Well done, Rick! 🚤😆😆😆

🚤 A heartfelt salute to our beloved Safety Officer, Bob Schwartz, for receiving the Distinguished Safety Award! Bob’s unwavering commitment to keeping us all safe on the water is truly commendable.

A massive THANK YOU to our Board of Directors, Flag Officers, and Fleet Officers for their hard work and dedication to our boating family. A special thank you to our Past Commodores who joined us and to the friends and PYWC members who traveled from near and far to celebrate with us—it wouldn’t have been the same without you!

And let’s talk about the food… Texas de Brazil pulled out all the stops, serving up an unforgettable feast—no one left hungry, that’s for sure! 🍖🍷

Last night was absolutely magical as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Christmas Boat Lighting at Prince William Marina! 🎄🚤

A huge THANK YOU to all of our members who participated—you made the night truly special. The creativity and effort put into decorating the boats was incredible! From twinkling lights to festive themes, every single one was a masterpiece.

Congratulations to all of the winners—you earned it with your amazing designs! And what a treat it was to have Santa, Mrs. Claus, and even the Grinch join us for the festivities. They brought so much holiday cheer to an already unforgettable night.

It was so wonderful to see all of our members and slip holders come together to keep this wonderful tradition alive. Here’s to 25 years of holiday magic and many more to come!
