Snap died with dignity this morning after 17 adventure-filled years. He was deeply loved by his humans from the moment they first saw him at the Indian River, Florida Humane Society.
During his years as resident cat aboard the Sailboat Solitaire, Snap traveled over 10,000 miles along the length of the Eastern Seaboard to the tropics. After losing his favorite human in 2015, Snap traded his sailing vessel for an RV and took to the Highways. Accompanied by two old women, he logged 41,328 road miles as he traveled through 48 states and 7 Canadian Provinces.
Snap enjoyed socializing with people and was known to sneak appetizers from guests and an occasional taste of eggnog during the holidays. He had little use for other animals and barely tolerated his late canine brother, Desi and feline sister Tippy the Boat Cat.
Snap retired to a small Mountain town in the Pacific Northwest, although he pined for Florida sunshine during the winter months.
He is survived by his second favorite human who will miss him until the day that she takes her final breath.
