These are some amazing family pets. Barry wasn't raised with children but he has easily learned how to interact with and enjoy his new friend.

Coat Types and Maintenance

As we prepare to publish our official breed standard, we have an important announcement regarding coat types! There are TWO coat types approved by the ASCOA standard; this differs from the previous standard which included 3 (or even 4!) different types. This change comes after discussion with an AKC judge at a previous conformation show which pointed out that genetically, there are only two types, though the wooly variation may include coats of medium to long length. Dogs formerly considered “plush” will now fall under the wooly variety.

Check out our newest article at https://arcticspitzclubofamerica.org/educational-library/grooming/coat-types-and-maintenance/ to learn more about the two coat types, and how to keep them looking healthy and beautiful!
