LTCR is registered as a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization and licensed in the state of Vermont. We are a group of volunteers who share a compassion for saving homeless dogs and promoting the welfare of animals in our community. AYESHA is still hanging out with her foster family waiting for her permanent family to find her. She is a little gem that has been overlooked, but we know her family has just not yet found her. She is a petite, friendly girl who can run like the wind! She is great making friends with other dogs, she is respectful and enjoys kiddos, she has good manners in the house, a respectful greeter and good on a leash. Ayesha is a sweet, sweet girl wanting to belong to her own family.

Ayesha is a pretty happy girl and content with being with her people and her four legged friends. Her favorite place to be is outside, whether it's lounging in the sun, or playing with the other pups in her foster home.

Ayesha loves her cozy spots—whether it’s snuggling up with her foster family or lounging on her own bed, she’s content being close to her loved ones. She’s the perfect balance of affectionate and independent, enjoying cuddles but never being overly demanding.

She’s a great playmate for other dogs, and her love of toys and tug-of-war will keep you entertained for hours. When she’s not playing, Ayesha is known to have some self-zoomies in the yard, showing off her goofy side and does it with a smile on her face! While she has bursts of playful energy, Ayesha is a medium-energy pup who’s equally content with a daily walk and some yard time.

Ayesha is respectful and gentle with children and is friendly with dog-savvy cats. She’s not pushy, but she absolutely enjoys giving and receiving affection, making her a wonderful companion for families of all kinds.

Please share sweet Jilly! She's a very sweet and gentle 7 month old pup looking for her forever family.

Jilly has that fun puppy energy but is also well behaved and mellow for her age. She enjoys playing with her toys and is happy to just relax by your side. She is eager to please, already knows “sit” and is both house-trained, crate-trained and even uses the doggie door to freely go in and out of her fenced in yard.
Jilly will be an easy addition to a home with other well mannered doggies; two-legged kiddos and dog savvy kitties. Her needs would include daily walks, continuing education, a box of toys and lots of cuddles.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!

This charming guy is Mr. MIKEY! He is a looker with those beautiful eyes, permanent eyeliner, floppy ears and solid body. It doesn’t take long to see how endearing he is with his people and is happy to show off his goofy side.

Mikey is about 6 months old and hovering just under 40 pounds. He’s a solid, stocky guy on the outside and a mushy love on the inside. He has not had a ton of experiences in the world, so he takes things on the slower side when it comes to new people and experiences. He lights up when he sees other dogs which makes it easier for him to meet other people. If you have a dog, you have already passed his test.

He will benefit from a family with another balanced dog and a family that has the time and would be excited to create positive exposure to a variety of different experiences with people, places and things. We would describe him as a low energy, mellow fella who enjoys his daily walks and playdates, but doesn’t need a high energy outlet. He actually is pretty happy cuddling on the couch with his kitty friend in his current foster home. His previous foster home in St. Croix had several other dogs which he truly enjoyed being with, learning from and playing with. He is more confident around doggie friends, so having a dog in his permanent home will be a requirement for him. He also lived with kiddos in his St. Croix home which he adored.

Mikey loves a good chew, toys and tasty treats. He loves to sunbathe outside and his walks are more of a sniffari than a fast paced walk. He LOVES playing with other dogs and has a fantastic playstyle. He is very good at matching other friend’s playstyles and very respectful. He also is very gentle when taking treats and appreciates a good belly rub. Crate trained, good on a leash, good house-manners, great co-pilot and overall a sweet baby.

He has a good foundation under those four paws and is ready to up the game with a family ready to coach him through his next chapter.

JILLY & MIKEY, both available for adoption, had a fun playdate together yesterday! Both are about 6 months old, JILLY is about 30 pounds, MIKEY is about 35 pounds. Both would love to join a family with another dog or two and they are both kitty friendly too!

Sweet Natured JILLY is ready to settle in permanently with her very own family!

She was found as a Stray on St. Croix, and nobody came looking for her. Seems to be a recurring story unfortunately, but lucky for Jilly, she landed in a foster home in St. Croix and quickly learned how great it is to be part of a family and have friends.

Jilly is about 6 months old (30 #) and is now here in Vermont catching the eyes of everyone she meets. She is a nice blend of playful puppy and calm companion. She is a social butterfly with people and has done wonderfully with the other pups in her foster home. While she can be a little shy and unsure when meeting new dogs on the trail and in new situations, she warms up with some coaching before making new doggie friends.

Jilly has that fun puppy energy but is also well behaved and mellow for her age. She enjoys playing with her toys and is happy to just relax by your side. UPDATE! This pretty girl went HOME to an amazing family!

Meet Nandita (Nan or DeeDee)

Some dogs burst into a room.

Nandita quietly finds her person… and loves them with her whole heart.

This gentle 40ish lb Lab/Hound mix (about 1.5–2 years old) is a soft-souled girl who blossoms in calm, patient homes. She may be a little reserved at first, but once she feels safe? She shines!
She perks up the moment her people walk into the room and happily scoots in if someone else is getting affection since cuddles should absolutely be shared.

-Lower to medium energy
-Excellent co-pilot
-Settles beautifully at home & crates willingly

Nan loves predictable routines, chill sniffy walks, and short bursts of playful silliness. She’s wonderfully low-maintenance and does great when left home alone.

When it comes to other animals, she prefers respectful friends. Chaos isn’t her style. She’s mostly neutral with dogs but warms up to patient pups, and she’s even made best friends with a cat! She would thrive with a gentle canine companion or as a cherished solo dog or a home with cats soaking up all the love.

Nandita is the kind of dog who quietly chooses her people… and once she does, she loves deeply and loyally.

If you’re looking for a sensitive, cuddly companion who will bond closely and be your new buddy, Nan might just be your girl.
