We are a mother and daughter team raising our White Labrador dogs and finding homes for their pups. Carolyn Miller is the mom of Maggie (the Dam) and Elizabeth Rayford is the mom of Chester (the Sire). Maggie and Chester's first litter was 8 puppies (6 females, 2 males). Our puppies are pure bred White Labrador Retrievers. While their parents are pets in our homes, the puppies would do well with t
raining to be excellent hunters, service and support dogs, or event military/police dogs. We used the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT) for each pup and are excited to match each male and female with their best life and forever family. Great! We will contact you from there.
2. What will the puppies be like? How big will they be? All of the puppies are pure bred White Labrador Retrievers. The size range for this breed is 55-85lbs, with the parents of this litter being on either end of that range! They are typically very active, attentive, and friendly dogs. Please refer to this site for information about the breed:
https://www.thelabradorsite.com/white-english-lab/ #:~:text=White%20English%20Labs%20are%20affectionate,with%20kids%20and%20other%20pets. (We don't own the website, we simply find the information provided to be helpful).
3. Can the puppies be registered with the American Kennel Club? Although Maggie and Chester are pure bred Labrador Retrievers, they were each purchased (from different breeders) with limited registration, so their puppies cannot be registered with the American Kennel Club. Therefore, we do not charge prices typical of pure bred breeders.
4. What are the parents like? DAM
River Ridge Maggie - Austin, MN
Maggie is on the small side of the normal range for British labs. She is very strong and muscular, but shorter than many. She has a lot of energy but manages it well even when she doesn’t get to go for regular walks. As a puppy, Maggie was a chewer! We lost many shoes in raising her. (We are not as quick of learners as she was!) As she has matured, she has learned the rules and ways of our household and lives beautifully within those boundaries. She is a delightful addition to our family. Maggie is very loyal and attentive. She is devoted to her people and is constantly attentive. She has been the easiest dog I have ever had the privilege of training. I have never had to s***k her because her spirit is crushed when I disapprove of her behavior. She defends her people as well. (Whenever we have someone come to the door she alerts us. It has been helpful to teach her the command ‘enough’ to let her know she can STOP alerting us! As soon as we tried that idea, she learned it quickly.) She loves to play and she loves the water. She is an excellent retriever. Her favorite activity is retrieving tennis balls thrown against the current in the river. It has been a beautiful experience to watch those qualities come into play as Maggie has tended her first litter. Her tender attentiveness and loyalty mixed with her appreciation of play have served those puppies well! (from Carolyn)
SIRE
Chesterton Bear Rayford (Chester) - Winona, MN
Chester is extremely playful. He can entertain himself, but he loves fetch and could probably play it all day long. When he's not chasing a ball, his days are spent following his favorite elementary age boys. As a 19mo not-neutered puppy himself, Chester is still learning the ropes around town. He's assertive but friendly and loving. Chester's favorite things include his ball, food - especially salmon, and soft blankets during cuddle time.
