This old lady holds such a special place in my heart. My one true love in life. My soulmate. I hope I have so many more years with her because I can't picture my life without her. She's still as pretty today as she was 10 years ago. She will always be my Emby Bemby Baby. 💛🌻✨🐾

The man. The myth. The legend! Perrin. What can I say about this boy? He stole my heart when I didn't know I needed him. He has been the foundation for our program. He has been a wonderful father and leader to the pack. He has taught manners to many and shows them to choose love over fighting. This boy would fight wars for me and I would do the same for him. I love you handsome boy. Thank you for making my heart whole again. 💛✨🐾

One of the things we go out of our way to do for our soon-to-be bred and momma dogs is make them homemade food to SUPPLEMENT their normal diet of high quality kibble. It's not always the same, the veggies and what type of protein is rotated. We focus on fibrous, filling, nutrient and antioxidant dense foods. High protein, high fat. It's so important for growing fetuses and milk production that our girls are getting a high quality diet.
Amongst the changing fresh foods, we always provide our girls with a daily vitamin that focuses on reproductive health and fish oil.

All of this quality food passes down into our babies through their mama and helps them grow stronger. 💛✨🌻🐾

This is so true.

Being a breeder is not just pictures of cute puppies and pride in beautiful dogs.
It is also a whole ocean of rejections that are invisible to someone on the outside.

🕰️ Time? There is no such thing as "free"

You forget about weekends, trips, vacations. At least for a few hours.
You can't go to the movies with newborns lying in the crib.
You can't sleep peacefully at night if the pregnant bitch is worried.
You can't leave the incubator when one puppy is fighting for its life.
There is no "break" in breeding. Every minute counts.

💸 Money? You invest endlessly

💰 Good dogs are expensive - and very expensive.
💰Tests, genetic tests, exhibitions, travel, food, supplements, c-sections, medicines, vaccines,accessories - these are thousands of dollars 💵
💰 Income? Sometimes it just goes away. There isn't any. Sometimes you are left in debt and... with an empty bed.

💔 Emotions? You learn patience and pain

➡️ When a puppy dies in your arms, and you are powerless.
➡️ When a bitch does not give birth, despite your efforts.
➡️ When you have to refuse a person who "only wants one dog", because you see that it will not be a good home.
➡️ When you sacrifice everything - and in return you receive hatred, jealousy and slander.

👩 ⚕️No routine - you are a breeder, but also:

🩺 a nurse/neonatalogist
🍼 foster mother
📖 in genetics
📦 in logistics
📷 a photographer
🧹 a cleaning lady
🧠 a psychologist
💬 advisor to their clients, often for years

👨 👩 👧 👦 family and friends ?? Things can be difficult

- "We can't meet because the bitch is giving birth." ""
- "I won't come because the puppies have diarrhea and I need to guard them." ""
- "No, I won't leave them with anyone. "It's my responsibility."

Not everyone will understand. Not everyone will stay.

❤️ But through it all... it's love

Love for animals, for their lives, for the development of the breed.
Love that makes you get up 10 times a night.
Love that doesn't let you take shortcuts.
Love that makes babies grow up healthy and makes you happy despite being sick,or tired.

🐶 A breeder is not a "puppy person".

This is someone who gives up their OWN comfort for the benefit of animals.
This is someone who doesn't equate love with money.
This is someone who lives between joy and pain, and still wouldn't trade it for anything else.

❤️ Respect passionate breeders. Every day they give everything they can, although no one sees it. ❤️

Last weekend in Duluth, MN, while I didn't get to attend I left my dogs in the awesome hands of co-owner Melissa Udomah and Elaine Hanson.

For longs;
Htld's Kagemane No Jutsu ML "Mushy" went BOW/BOS/BOBOH on Friday
KF Too Blonde To Respond ML "Winry" went WB

For Smooths;
Astercreek Heartbreak Kid V Wyrmhund "Benny" went RW in the 6-9 Mo dogs class
And Den Grig Miss Mercy Ms "Mercy" didn't get much love, going second. But that's okay because her sister's are just as lovely and deserved the wins just as much!

Saturday no love for the long babies, congrats to those who won.

But for my little smooth spitfire
Den Grig Miss Mercy Ms went RWB in the 6-9 Mo bitch class. I'm proud of this little girl for slowly getting the hang of what we are asking of her.
Another RW for Benny as well this day. These kids are learning and trying and that is all we can ask of them.

Congrats to everyone at the show. Wish I could have been there to see it all. I'm cheering from afar always though.
Next up is Casper, WY and then onto Bismarck, ND! I won't be there for either of these but I have my kiddos in trusted hands. 💛☺️🥹✨

Happy Birthday to our wonderful handsome boy Perrin. Can't believe he's six! Time sure has flown by. I remember the day I picked up this stunning cream boy. I had just lost my heart dog, Boo and while our start was a bit rough because I was grieving, he helped me heal like I never thought a dog could. I love you my handsome cream puff. You make the world and each day a bit brighter. 💛🌻🥹🐾✨
