COVID-19 Precautions

In our attempt to help prevent the spread of the COVID virus we have changed how we are seeing and treating patients. Please review the following steps and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Upon arrival please stay in your car or outside and call: 503-682-3737

If you are here for medications or food order pick up we will collect payment over the phone and bring your items out to you.

If you are here for an appointment we will send out a staff member to retrieve your pet. Please make sure cats are in a dependable carrier. If you don't have a carrier, let us know and we will send one out with the team member.

You will then receive a phone call from the Doctor seeing your pet to discuss the health care for your pet.

Once you have spoken with the Doctor and treatment is done, one of our customer care members will call to collect payment over the phone.

Lastly, your pet and paper work from the visit will be brought back out to your car.

Summer isn't over yet...Protect your pet from the effects of the heat. Be sure to have plenty of water available. Consider setting up a wading pool for your dog or hose him down with a watering hose to keep him cooled off.

Exercising your cat may seem challenging at first. With some creativity, you can help your kitty stay in shape! Cats have a natural instinct to hunt prey. Find toys (such as the fishing pole type) that stimulate this instinct. Try carving holes in the sides of a cardboard box and drop a ball in the box for your kitty to find and bat around. Keeping your kitty active helps maintain an ideal body weight and stimulates your cat’s brain.

Are you thinking about getting a new furry family member? If so, you may want to look in to pet insurance. Here are a few companies in no particular order that many of our clients are using. Healthy Paws, Trupanion, Nationwide, PetPlan and Embrace. They all function a little different so take your time and see which best fits your needs! Even your adult/senior pets may be insured. If you have a company you like that is not listed please feel free to add in comments below!

What is a Microchip:
A microchip is your pet's permanent ID. A pet microchip—the size of a grain of rice—goes beneath your pet's skin in between the shoulder blades. This permanent ID can never be removed or become impossible to read.

Injected like a vaccine, we can implant a microchip at your pets next exam.
