Wilmington Animal Centrix

Wilmington Animal Centrix Mission Statement: Ending pet homelessness one spay and neuter at a time.

We are a 501c3, community outreach that works to support and create bridges between local animal rescues and community members who are trying to help animals in need. Our long-term goal is to reduce pet homelessness in New Hanover county, and surrounding communities. We will accomplish this goal by, working with individuals in our community, as well as other community non-profits to help keep pets

in their current home. We will primarily focus our efforts on companion animals, but will spread awareness of issues impacting wildlife.

George came from a colony of 44 neglected cats who have now all been taken into safety. Fortunately for George & his family, kind humans got involved in helping him. Many cats aren’t so fortunate.

If you have a cat or two that have yet to be spayed/ neutered, please make that appointment today! Don’t wait until it takes multiple rescue groups, massive resources, & a community effort to solve the problems created by one person’s negligence. Stop the suffering before it starts. Be kind to animals. Reach out if you need assistance with getting your pets fixed.

Our May Member Spotlight is on Katrina. As our Graphics Designer, she does our Community Resource and Education flyers. She also holds pet food drives at her office, Mind Haven Mental Health Clinic in Wilmington. We are grateful for her support over the last 4 years!
We asked her a few questions about herself, her pets and why she chooses to support WAC. ❤

*At WAC, I primarily design graphics for a range of events. Occasionally, I combine my day job at Mind Haven with volunteering by organizing drives that collect pet food and cleaning supplies.

**Beyond my volunteer work, I’m a proud cat mom to Naya, my 6-year-old orange tabby.

***I volunteer at WAC because I believe we have the power to shape the environment we live in. One day I hope to see Wilmington free of mistreated animals, pet homelessness, and illegal dog fights. I am confident that our community can make this happen.

If welcoming in a new baby might mean saying goodbye to your cat, please consider this BEFORE adopting a cat. If you decide to give up on an animal for any reason, please reach out to the rescue group you adopted him/her from first.
