Tip for this Tuesday: If you’re hot this summer, so are your pets! Keep them cool and make sure they stay hydrated. Dogs and cats regulate their body temperature differently from humans, primarily through panting and limited sweat glands located in their paws.

Common signs of overheating include:�• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing�• Drooling�• Rapid heartbeat�• Weakness or fatigue�• Vomiting or diarrhea�• Disorientation
And your dog’s tongue can begin to curl! That’s a sign of dehydration. �
If your pet exhibits any of these symptoms, take immediate action to cool them down and seek veterinary care if necessary. Hint: watermelon is a great source for rehydration. It provides electrolytes! But be sure to give them the seedless variety because the seeds aren’t not good for them.
