Sad UPDATE-he did have a broken back and had to be euthanized unfortunately. Animal control took him back. He was an intact male no chip so sorry for the loss of this beautiful dog


ACO picked the dog up and took it to the emergency vet on Glenstone. He was in really bad shape possibly had a broken back. Not sure if it was euthanized or not. 🥲

I'm with Greene County Sheriffs Office and currently out with an injured pyrenees. Looking for it's owner on Farm Road 181 and East Hickory Barren Lane. ACO is enroute just trying to find the owner. Thank you.

So very true. We have to pay attention to exactly what we are communicating to them. Sadly, it’s often not what we think.

When we punish dogs for growling, even if they're growling at our child, we aren't helping them feel better about whatever it is that is threatening them. Instead, we are teaching to stop letting us know when they feel unsafe.

The result? A dog who stops giving us warning signs and "bites out of the blue."

And, that's how we create dangerous dogs. I'd much rather have a dog growl and tell me they're upset (so we have a chance to intervene and help them) than a dog who just bites without any warning signs.

Hard to believe but our little floofs are 5 weeks. We will soon start matching them with our selected familles & are super excited to watch the love stories unfold. We are just so pleased with this pack’s development. And once again, feel very blessed to have such amazing families for our lil darlings.

It's great your dog is ok off lead.
It's not great when they come barreling up to a dog on a lead.
The leash is there for a reason.

We might be building confidence.
Working through anxiety.
Recovering from an injury.
We may be on a mission to stay calm around triggers.
Or any number of reasons.....

Every dog deserves to feel safe on their walk.

Did your dog just do nothing?......absolutely nothing?
Brilliant!
Reward them.
We don't reward nothing enough.
They have made good choices with no barking, jumping or simply checked in with you for more guidance.

Training doesn't have to be spins, tricks and always telling them what we want.
Real "training" can happen in silence.....and often its trickier to spot.

Keep your eyes and ears ready to spot those good choices.
When you reward them.....watch what happens.
