🐾 Before You Hit the Road, Cat-Proof Your RV! 🚐🐈

Traveling full-time with cats is one of the greatest adventures you'll ever share. They become your co-pilots, campground bird watchers, and expert nappers. But before you pull out of the driveway, there's one important step every RV cat parent should take:

Cat-proof your RV.

Unlike a traditional home, an RV has tight spaces, moving furniture, storage compartments, and plenty of places for a curious cat to squeeze into. A little preparation can prevent accidents and make life on the road much safer for everyone.

Here are a few things to check before traveling:

🐾 Secure cabinet and pantry doors so curious paws can't open them while you're driving.

🐾 Cover or organize electrical cords to prevent chewing.

🐾 Check for small gaps behind appliances, under furniture, or inside storage compartments where a frightened cat could hide or become trapped.

🐾 Keep windows and screens securely latched. Cats are quick, especially when they spot a bird or squirrel outside.

🐾 Remove toxic plants, chemicals, medications, and human foods that could be harmful.

🐾 Secure breakable decorations and loose items that could fall while traveling.

🐾 Create a safe space with their favorite bed, blanket, scratching post, and toys so they have a familiar place to relax.

🐾 Make sure every cat wears a collar with an ID tag and is microchipped, just in case they ever slip outside.

🐾 Before extending or retracting your slides, always know where your cats are. Curious kitties can hide in places you least expect.

Our three girls, Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred, have taught us that cats can turn almost anything into an adventure. We've learned that a little planning goes a long way toward keeping them safe and happy as we travel.

The goal isn't to stop them from exploring, it's to give them a safe place to explore.

A cat-proof RV means more peace of mind for you and a happier adventure for your feline travel companions. 🐈❀️🚐

😴 There Are Nap Levels... and Miss Fred Has Mastered Every One! 🐾

If you've ever wondered whether cats have different napping moods, the answer is absolutely yes! 😹

Miss Fred is living proof.

Today she found the perfect spotβ€”snuggled up next to the RV window, soaking up the comfort of home while keeping one eye open for the most important event of the day... Dad returning from his workamping rounds! ❀️

From this cozy little lookout, she has a front-row seat to everything happening around the RV campground. A bird might fly by. A squirrel might make an appearance. Or maybe she'll catch a glimpse of Dad walking back to the fifth wheel.

Until then... she'll continue perfecting the art of the "half-asleep, half-on-duty" cat nap.

One of my favorite parts of full-time RV living is watching our cats find their own cozy corners and turn every window into the best seat in the campground. Home isn't just where we parkβ€”it's where Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred feel safe, loved, and ready for their next nap.

Question of the day: Does your cat have a favorite napping spot where they can keep an eye on everything? πŸ±πŸ’€

🐾 Cat Comic Book Crisis in the RV! πŸ˜‚πŸ“š

Breaking News from the RV...

Dad has an entire wall of comic books... and not a single one is about cats! 😾

Honestly, we're offended.

Mom, on the other paw, clearly understands where her loyalty belongs. Just look at that cat mug! Finally, someone around here appreciates true greatness. πŸ±β˜•

Now the three of us, Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred, have an important mission.

Operation: Cat Comic Takeover.

The plan?
🐾 Wait until Dad isn't looking.
🐾 Recruit our best "I'm adorable" faces.
🐾 Convince Mom to sneak a cat comic onto that wall.
🐾 Slowly replace the superheroes with the real heroes... RV cats! 😹

After all, who needs capes when you have midnight zoomies, expert bug patrol, campground squirrel surveillance, and the ability to wake the humans at 4:30 a.m. because the food bowl is only half full?

We may live in a fifth wheel, but around here, we're convinced cats deserve top billing. 🚐🐈

Question for my fellow RV cat parents...
If your cat had their own comic book, what would it be called? 😹

Date Night Report: The RV Cats Were Busy! πŸ˜‚πŸΎ

We came home from date night to discover that our girls had clearly been having a party while we were gone! 🀣

The toy basket was tipped over, the rug was bunched up, and there was plenty of evidence that Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred had been making the most of having the RV all to themselves.

Honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way.

Watching our three cats settle into our new fifth wheel has been one of the greatest joys of full-time RV living. Every day they become more comfortable, more adventurous, and more convinced that this home on wheels belongs to them. Their zoomies, toy explosions, and curious little adventures remind us that home isn't about the size of the space, it's about the love inside it.

Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred aren't just traveling companions. They're our co-pilots, campground inspectors, professional bird watchers, and the true heart of our RV. ❀️

πŸ•·οΈ Cats & Spider Season: What Every Cat Parent Should Know! 🐈

As the weather starts to change, many of us notice more spiders making their way indoors. If you're a cat parent, you already know what happens next... your cat suddenly becomes a professional spider hunter! πŸ±πŸ˜‚

But should we be worried?

πŸ•·οΈ When is spider season?

Spider season is typically late summer through early fall. During this time, many spiders become more active as they search for mates or move indoors looking for shelter. That's why you may notice more webs and eight-legged visitors around your home or RV.

🐈 Do cats eat spiders?

Yes! Many cats will chase, bat around, and even eat spiders. Most common household spiders are harmless, and a curious cat usually won't have any problems after catching one.

⚠️ Can a spider hurt or even kill a cat?

While it's uncommon, some venomous spiders can be dangerous if they bite a cat. In North America, bites from a black widow or brown recluse can cause serious illness and require immediate veterinary care. Thankfully, these bites are relatively rare.

🚨 When should you worry?

If your cat has been playing with a spider and you notice any of these signs, contact your veterinarian right away:
🐾 Swelling around a bite
🐾 Difficulty walking
🐾 Muscle tremors or weakness
🐾 Trouble breathing
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Extreme pain or unusual crying
🐾 Lethargy or collapse

If possible, safely identify the spiderβ€”but don't put yourself at risk trying to catch it.

❀️ Cat Tip

Most spiders your cat encounters are harmless, but it's still a good idea to keep your home or RV free of webs and check corners, storage compartments, and outdoor gear before your curious kitty investigates.

Our cats think every spider is a new toy... and honestly, they're probably convinced they're protecting the family from an invasion! πŸ˜‚

🐾 A Message from Ellie, Abby & Miss Fred 🐾

We'd like to take a moment to tell you about our human mom. ❀️

She thinks she's the one in charge around here...

That's adorable. 😹

She's the keeper of the treats, the cleaner of the litter boxes, the opener of the food cans, the maker of cozy beds, and the one who somehow finds room for three cats in an RV.

She celebrates our birthdays, worries when we're sick, buys us toys we ignore (because the cardboard box is obviously better), and makes sure every campground feels like home.

She says we're spoiled...

We prefer the term "properly appreciated."

She gave up space in the RV so we'd have window perches, cozy nap spots, and even a flowing water fountain because she wants us to live our healthiest, happiest lives.

Some people see three cats.

She sees three daughters with whiskers.

We may not always listen...
We may wake her up at 3 a.m...
We may leave fur on absolutely everything...

But every purr, every head bump, every slow blink, and every cuddle is our way of saying,

"Thanks for being the best Cat Mom ever. We love you." 🩷🐾

Now, if you'll excuse us, it's almost time for our afternoon nap... and Mom needs to refill the treat jar.

Love,

🐾 Cat Tip: 10 Signs Your Cat Is Happy & Thriving 😺

As cat parents, we all want to know our feline friends are living their best lives! While every cat has a unique personality, these are some of the most common signs that your kitty is happy, healthy, and thriving.

🐱 1. They Purr Around You
A content purr often means your cat feels safe, relaxed, and loved.

🐾 2. They Eat and Drink Well
A healthy appetite and staying hydrated are good indicators that your cat is feeling well.

πŸŽ‰ 3. They Get the Zoomies
Those random bursts of energy aren't just funnyβ€”they're a sign your cat feels playful and healthy.

😴 4. They Sleep Soundly
Cats sleep a lot! A relaxed, deep nap means they feel secure in their environment.

❀️ 5. They Head Butt or Rub Against You
This is your cat's way of saying, "You're part of my family."

πŸͺΆ 6. They Groom Themselves Regularly
A clean, well-groomed coat usually means your cat is comfortable and healthy.

🎁 7. They Bring You "Gifts"
Whether it's a toy or something from outside, your cat may be sharing their "catch" because they trust you.

🐦 8. They're Curious
Watching birds through the window, exploring new boxes, or inspecting every grocery bag shows an engaged and happy mind.

πŸ’€ 9. They Expose Their Belly
Not always an invitation for belly rubs, but it does show they feel safe around you.

πŸ₯° 10. They Choose to Be Near You
Whether they're curled up beside you, following you from room to room, or supervising your work, your cat enjoys your company.

Every cat expresses happiness a little differently, but learning their unique personality is one of the greatest joys of being a cat parent.

πŸ’¬ Which sign describes your cat the best? Tell us about your furry friend in the comments!

🚐🐾 "We don't need a big house... just an RV, good humans, and windows with the best views."

If our girls could talk, we're pretty sure this is exactly what they'd say!

🐈 Ellie: "I remember when we had a bigger house... but honestly, as long as someone keeps my food bowl full and respects my nap schedule, I'm happy."

🐈 Abby: "Excuse me... did someone say birds? I need this window immediately. This is serious business!"

🐈 Miss Fred: "I don't know where we're going, but if everyone else is looking out the window, I probably should too."

The truth is, cats don't measure happiness by square footage. They care about feeling safe, being with the people they love, having a sunny place to nap, and a window with an ever-changing view.

RV life has taught our familyβ€”and our three girlsβ€”that home isn't a place... it's who you're with. Every campground becomes a new backyard, every window becomes cat TV, and every adventure gives Ellie, Abby, and Miss Fred something new to supervise.

Now be honest... Which one sounds most like your cat? 😹
