Midwest Dog Center We offer group puppy/basic/advanced obedience classes, protection training, Board & Train programs, boarding , doggie daycare and grooming.

About once a year we have German Shepard puppies availiable Parents are imported from Germany and OFA Certified. Puppy Class: (puppy's 8 weeks or older, 3 week course)

Basic Obedience: (Dog's 6 months or older, 4 week course)

Basic Protection (By Private Lesson)
*Getting your dog targeted on basic sleeve

Advanced Protection (By Private Lesson)
*Release from a distance
*Recall
*tactics during protection work
*Legalities of a protection dog
*Certificate after completion

Board And Train (1 Week or 2 Weeks)
*Obedience
*Address any Behavior issues
*Socialization
*Great time to book for when you go on vacation

Boarding Facility
* 1st class facility
*Indoor/outdoor runs that are climate controlled. Outdoor runs have a cover to shield the dogs from the sun.
*Cinder block side walls inside and out. No transfer of urine between kennels
*8' perimeter fence that surrounds the exercise area

Import German Shepherds
*All imports have a dual registration through the SV/AKC.
*All imports have their pink papers
*Puppies are planned for the future
*Protection German Shepherds will be for sale

We are saddened to announce that Mariah will be leaving our team, but we are also excited for her as she embarks on a new journey. Many of you have had the pleasure of witnessing her extraordinary care and compassion for the dogs that have been left in our care. Her kindness, empathy, and unique connection with her furry friends have been a source of inspiration to us all.

Mariah's last day with us will be Friday, Aug 29, 2025. If you encounter her before then, please do not hesitate to wish her the very best of luck in her future endeavors.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt appreciation to Mariah for her dedication and commitment to MDC. We wish her all the best for a bright and successful future.

Hey there! We want to give you a heads-up that starting August 11, 2025, we’ll be adjusting our grooming prices a bit.

If your dog falls into the Small, Medium, or Large weight categories, you won’t see any changes in pricing, so no worries there!

For our XL and Supersized pups (those weighing 80 pounds and up), there will be some slight adjustments to the pricing.

The most significant changes will apply to our long-haired buddies, like Great Pyrenees, St. Bernards, Newfoundlands, and Bernese Mountain Dogs.

When you drop off your dog, we’ll weigh them together and discuss what kind of grooming service you’re looking for.

Just a quick reminder: all of our grooming services are by appointment only.

If you have any questions or want to book an appointment, don’t hesitate to call and chat with Jaime. We’re here to help!

Today is Jamie B’s last day with us here at MDC. Jamie has been with us a little over 4 years now. She has treated all of your dogs with loving and caring hands. Often staying late to make sure they had their meds or ate their food for the night. We will all miss her out here. Thanks for all the memories, Jamie. We wish you all the best in your next adventure. 💜

We are looking for some help for 2 kennel positions. This would be a great job for college kids, someone looking for a second job or someone who likes to clean and hang out with dogs. While we do hire a lot of high school kids, these two positions are mostly needed during the weekdays, so high school kids might not be the fit that we need for the day shift Monday - Friday.
