Four trainers came out for some practice and help today in Augusta. There were a couple aged-out trainers who came to give some help as well as bring their own horses for the church’s obstacles. Even a judge showed up to give tips to trainers!
Time is nearing for the State Fair. Now would be the perfect time to ask any questions and fine tune the basics. Don’t forget there will be a make up Topeka gathering Aug 30.
Again, we would like to thank Three Wooden Crosses Cowboy Church Arena for allowing us the use of your arena during your wonderful event.

Remember, this is tomorrow. It is come and go event. The mustangs will be in the practice arena. With less than a month to go before the fair, it is great practice and exposure.
It’s gonna be hot so be sure to bring water buckets for your horses. I’m not sure if concessions will be open to buy, but make sure to bring yourself some water too.

2025 WHYC trainer picks didn’t dissapoint an the trainers have done a great job in gentling these once wild & untiuched horses.
This is one of several that will be available to bid on after the Challenge event.

This is Dana Fecho-Alhilali, a volunteer with WHYC. I have spoken with Three Wooden Crosses Cowboy Church Arena about allowing the use of its practice arena Saturday during the obstacle practice day.
The organizers have agreed to let us set up the type of obstacles that will be seen at the fair in the practice arena for in-hand work for the yearling mustangs and youth. It will not be a mandated gathering but an opportunity for more practice and exposure. I will try really hard to find some volunteers to help the youth with tips and guidance.

Here’s what I need help with:
-Adults, ambassadors for WHYC, other trainers to give tips and guidance to any youth who show up
-Some obstacles to borrow as I’ll be picking up some from Tammy as she can’t attend due to a previous commitment
-help setting up and tearing down
Please comment here or message me personally if you’re coming, able to help or have any questions.

Again, this is NOT mandated but I highly encourage trying to come out for some practice and tips. This was a last minute request and approval and truly appreciate everyone who will make this happen. We want these kids and yearlings to succeed and show well at the fair.
