We have pictures from UDC Nationals!! Amy with SagaK9 took so many amazing shots, it was hard to choose just a few!!

Here’s a little bit of what happened at the show. Karagül’s Karma Choc Dahlia (Nadia) received her Working Aptitude Certificate, passed her Youth Temperament Test, got two excellent ratings from judges, two challenge certificates, her Novice Trick Dog title, and Canine Good Citizen Award.

Talane’s Ace Up My Sleeve Kirah Rose and I attempted her breed survey with bites a second time. We unfortunately fell short again during the protection portion and were held back. I had a lot of nerves from the previous year’s events (I think she did too), did not get Kirah enough reps in training to make her successful and that’s my fault. We may try again, but not without doing some health testing first to make sure at her age, her body is up for the task.

Overall it was a stressful time, but it is always good to see familiar faces and be part of a group that loves their dogs to moon and back ❤️

Do you ever feel so strongly about something it makes your heart hurt? That’s my love for the Doberman. The trust, love, protection and capabilities that these dogs have is beyond words. In a little over a week my girls and I will be at the United Doberman Club Nationals in Illinois where Kirah will be re-tested in the breed survey and Nadia in 3 conformation shows as well as the WAE and CGC test. Wish us luck!

Pictured is Xavier, the first grandchild of the Rush’s and brother/uncle/grandpa to every Doberman who came into the Talane/Karagul crew since we got our first, Shakirah. We celebrated his 15th birthday last month 😊

Can your dogs eat bones or dinner peacefully together??

This has always been something I’ve been proud of! Kirah does have a tendency to collect them and Nadia will let me know if she has or she wants to switch with someone.

Kirah and Nadia have their meals side by side in an elevated food dish and do occasionally steal a kibble or two from one another. Rarely is there so much as a lip curl.

The only time we have problems is when Kirah’s in high drive chasing squirrels or isn’t listening and Nadia thinks she needs to correct her own mother 🙄

I have to share an incredible thing this lady right here did!
We’ve gone and vended at two reptile expos this month for the company I work for. First show was in KC. She was mostly content being in her kennel and napping while the show went on. This weekend we were at one in OKC where one of the stores I manage is at. I was joined by the store manager and an employee I’ve only met a handful of times. I knew the newer emplyee had a medical condition although didn’t pry as to what it was. This show Nadia was NOT ok with being in her kennel and would throw a fit every time I put her in.
At one point my employee asked if she could sit down as she felt she was having an episode and would hold Nadia for me. She came to me a short time later and asked if Nadia knew medical alert and pressure techniques. I told her about a time when she was a puppy that she alerted my co-worker’s daughter of a diabetic high, but other than that no. Apparently when she sat down, Nadia started smelling the back of her ear, then used her head to press down on the girl’s head and held it until her heart rate came down. We were both in aw!! My little lady is amazing and I love her so much 😊❤️

Nadia learning the proper basics of the hold. She has picked up on this so quickly! All motivation since I don’t train the forced hold or retrieve.

Happy 7th birthday Talane’s Ace Up My Sleeve Kirah Rose! One flower for all your puppies including the girl who didn’t make it. You are the most patient mama even when you should put the smack down on your child lol. I love you more than you know, my bad ass mamacita!

I can’t believe it’s been a year!

All the puppies have learned so much! Nadia (teal) and Arwen (red) are coming along with their IGP training. Max aka William (green) is an obedience wizard but finds it too mundane and prefers search and service dog tasks instead. Koa (orange) knows all her local hiking paths and pulls her parents with a sledding harness on roller blades. And Zulu (gold) prefers eating and sun bathing 😆
